About
Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Out to golf
the course is still having construction near it noisee and dusty some places , but it is fun to play.
Wait to play, course management is struggling
I hope by taking the time to write a review, course management decides to make an effort. Seems like they sent all the maintenance crew home for the pandemic and haven't brought them back.
I had played the course 3 times in the last couple of years and loved the layout. Not easy but not too hard. It was in great condition each time. Currently there are cow pastures in the area that are in better shape. Stay away until you see some psoitive reviews. Management will undoubtedly thank me for my review and give lip service they are improving. Invite me out to play and prove it. If conditions are better, I will pay, if not the round is free for my 4some.
It's a Golf Course
Staff was disinterest. Just putting in their time. They were there to get you out and that's it.
Fairways were like poorly kept lawns complete with dry spots, muddy patches, and long grass weed sections right in the middle. Other options available. Not what it used to be.

This course is getting worse
Played Thurs July 2, 2020 and was very disappointed in its condition. Greens were terrible! Slow shaggy unkept. Very very disappointed in what’s happening at this course.

Friday afternoon
When ever the rate is cheaper, expect the pace of play to be a lot slower. It would be nice to have a Marshall to put some pressure on those who take 20+ mins per hole. Other than that staff is great and course is a great value.

BEWARE! 6 hour round ahead on weekends!
Morongo decided to close one of its courses so that they would have enough carts for the other on weekends. In doing so, they've stacked their tee times like LA county muni courses every 7.5 minutes. Having an 11:15am tee time meant that we actually teed off at 11:45am. There were marshalls on the course, on the front nine, but that didn't help anything. I guess by 2:30pm when we turned, they went home which led to a 3 hour and 15 minute back nine experience.
The practice greens by the clubhouse we perfect and there was a big stimpmeter sign saying 10.5. The courses greens were around a 7 being overwatered and not cut. This is done to keep them alive from all the foot traffic.
You would think they would maintain the bunkers on the closed course, but it looks like there is no ground crew to do so. Waste high weeds growing on the up slopes of most bunkers. They are raking the middle of the bunkers flat, but they are mostly muddy from the daily watering of the fairways. If you hit it into a slope of the bunker, it plugged every time.
This course really has a great design, but if you have 6 hours and don't mind waiting 10 minutes on every tee, avoid this place until after COVID.

Fathers day round
I've played this course at least dozen times. I expected to be slow round due to covid 19 and Father's day. What I didn't expect the golf cart to act up half way thru the rd. Wasn't only my cart but also the other group was having cart problems. Course is in great shape. Staff was super friendly. I will play again but with expectations my cart will not fail on me.

Great Challenging Course
Course is in great shape. Rough is long and sticky but it should be that was on a championship course!!! Amazing track!!!!!

Over priced
There is no pro shop open, no score card. First cut of fairway is almost rough, groups behind me is jumping around all over the hole but no marshal on duty.
Terrible course. I worn't recommend this course to anyone.

Horrible Day
Played 4.5 hours and still had 4 holes to go. Ran out of daylight because pace of play was horrible. No marshall and doesn't seem to be managed well for just opening back up after COVID. There were four groups waiting to tee off on hole 1.....that should tell you how our day went. Cart girl was the best part of the round and even she ran out of chips, olives, limes and a couple other items. Bathrooms were closed/out of order which is not good for women and leaves the men peeing anywhere they want. Only 1 of the 2 courses were open. It would be much wiser to split the available carts up between the two courses and pace of play would be MUCH BETTER. The rough is so thick that you can't find a ball even when you know exactly where it landed and if you did find it, it was near impossible to hit it out. Wont be going back for a very long time. I like these courses but NOT RIGHT NOW. Will not be recommending anyone to play here until COVID restrictions are over and both courses are open.
