About
Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Slowest round in a while.
Apparently not enough carts to keep both courses upon but enough to let three groups wait on almost every tee box. So much for cdc guidelines there. Other than the almost 6 hour round with no regard from the employees, course is in pretty decent shape. Rough is long from COVID neglect but is getting shorter every few days.
Play it!
Course is great, rough is definitely thick. Grass clippings make it tough to find a ball in some areas. There are SOME greens and SOME bunkers that could use a little work, BUT the course is a good challenge and definitely worth the money.

The rough was so long you couldn't find your ball if you rolled out of the fairway. The dead cut grass was left in massive amounts which made it virtually impossible to find your ball unless you stepped on it.. I bet I looked for balls for 45 minutes. More than ever before. The Legends is a great course. Stay away from this side. The fun was taken out of the round. I've been playing for years and this round stands out.as the worst waste of good golf money.

Played first day it opened
Course was in great shape including the US Open rough!. If you missed the fairway forget it! Due to the rough the round was 5 hours, but kinda expected. No doubt they will be lowering the rough to a more manageable level shortly.

Great Course Very Challenging
Great Place but was a little uncertain about conditions at first due to COVID-19. I was pleasantly surprised on how awesome the course was and well maintained. F&B was closed which is understandable but the Bev cart lady was available.

Course is great
Paid $70 to play but the course was in great shape, tees, fairways and greens were awesome...not sure what all the fuss is about with the rough..its a challenge but its definitely not out of control. You can see the course is being mowed and they're doing a great job. Watched the cart guys taking their time properly sanitizing down the carts which is reassuring. Will be back there next week. Enjoy yourself!
Great, beautiful course, was a challenge for me who can’t hit my driver straight. I was in the rough a lot, very healthy but needed a wedge to get out. The greens were fast and firm ... but had a great time. Price is high, but its expected since there is more regulations enforced during this pandemic! The staff was extremely helpful. The facility is very nice and clean. (I did not have a chance to eat in the clubhouse since they are still closed, which is understandable). Treat yourself and play here, I definitely will!!

Only cayon of champions is open it's in great condition but the roughi is four to six inches!!! Still had a good time

Tukwet Champion course
Horrible experience. If you don’t stay on the fairway you won’t find your ball. They didn’t keep up with maintenance while course was closed for play. $70 dollars to play was an absolute joke! They didn’t even put a disclaimer about the condition to let use know. Took advantage of everyone dying to get back out there.

Like many other businesses around the World we have had to make adjustments during the COVID19 pandemic. The rough did get some healthy growth and we are now able to lower our rough mowing height within the next couple of days.
The course is a challenge but we feel is very playable. We understand it’s a different playing style from the past which is offering a different challenge.
In regards to the $70 rack rate fees, in order for us to offer golf to our customers and ensuring all facility aspects are fully sanitized especially the golf carts we are only offering a limited number of rounds per day to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff and to follow all regulations set forth by CDC/State Government/Riverside County.
Cut the dang rough
First of all they are charging $70 to play a course that has unmanicured conditions but mainly the rough. Easily worse then US open conditions. You would be a few yards off the fairway and would t find your ball. Was a joke especially for $70

US Open style rough
I’ve played this course quite a few times, but today was the first time I’ve seen VERY high rough. If you hit just off the fairway, there is a good chance that you won’t find your ball. I lost a few today that shouldn’t have been lost. It’s also the first time I’ve paid $70 for this course.... almost feels like price gouging, especially when all f&b is closed and you don’t even get a score card! I left disappointed.

Pandemic nightmare
Rough around the fairways were horrible, we lost one of our playing partners today, had to send out a search party to find him.

Amazing!
Getting back out to play after the COVID 19 shutdown was so exciting! The staff were very friendly & happy to be operating again. The only problem we had was the rough was extremely thick & high due to the gardeners being off because of the stay at home order so we lost a lot of balls!! But that’s due to our bad shots! LOL
The weather was perfect & the grounds were lush & beautiful.

Course has lots of challenges.
Played the Champions course. Very challenging and plays long. Green ran true with lots of undulations. Windy today so played harder. Not for beginners.

Perfect Golf Day ruined by greed?
A perfect day for golf on an outstanding course was ruined by the fact that the management is so intent on getting the most money they can out of a day of overcrowded golf that I quit after almost 5 hours and I was only on the 14th hole!
They had two tournaments early in the day then stacked us up with 7 minute intervals. We had to wait almost 20 minutes just to get a cart! Then the (very nice) starter indicated that it would probably be slow. What an understatement! There were 3 foursomes on every hole and each one waiting. The group behind us hit into us 3 times before I got a course worker to go talk to them after I yelled "STOP" at them 2 times.
What a terrible (greedy) way to ruin what should have been a great day of golf!
Pace slow
5 hr 10 minute round. Course marshals were out to no avail.
