About
Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Needs more care
Played champions side for first time in a few years. Course is showing signs of neglect, No over seeding leaves you with some tight lies on the dormant Bermuda grass...Had just played another Indian Casino owned course, Eagle Falls and it was 100% better condition. Seems morongo is just doing what must be done to keep course playable.

Challenging Layout but disappointing end
The golf course has an excellent layout that offers challenging shot making and tricky greens. I enjoyed playing the course but the experience was greatly diminished as I took the 1st tee time of the day only to get stopped on the back nine due to a scheduled tournament. Nothing was said at the time of booking nor when I checked in before the round. Therefore, I didn't even get to finish playing the course for which I paid. That made for a disappointing end to my experience.

Good AND Challenging
Good course. Very challenging at some points. Water in all bunkers which was a bummer. Greens are VERY fast which made it challenging. Would play again.

Marshall drove around a few times but pace of play did not improve. Everyone wanted to golf last day of year

Alerts would be nice
Course layout is great. Have played pervious and enjoyed my time. This review is based on per $ value. No course alerts for Pools in middle of fairways and traps. No course alerts for 2 hour frost delay and still taking walk in tee times. Forced to start out on hole 10 at 937 for our 752 tee time. 4.5 hour round. One some who paired with us was great and made round bearable. Communication is key. Will probably be back but one more visit like this and it may be the end of me playing Tukwet.

Could be better
Pros: Challenging and interesting layout. Greens fast and punishing if above hole
Cons: Garbage thrown along course in bushes rough etc through out - who does that? Dog feces on golf path that staff drove around in cart. Grass in many bunkers that are hard-packed.
Fairways are very patchy in places.
Has a vibe of not doing well financially

Challenging
Brisk and windy day that made a challenging course that much harder. I like the course quite a bit, winds through the canyons. A lot of risk / reward holes where you have to make a choice. First 6 holes was rocking, wind at the back, in general elevation downhill, and easier holes, sitting at 1 over. Then spun around against the wind and uphill and the wheels cane off a bit. At the turn has another 4 holes into the 2 club wind. Greens roll true, but you could call them Nell Carter greens... gimme a break, I misread most puts, they all seemed to break the opposite way I thought. If you miss the hole it would often roll out quite a bit leaving a challenging putt to avoid the 3 putt. Sand traps has some sand but very firm, many were legit pull out and drop due to poor conditions, a lot of cool bunkers, if these had good sand this place would be top shelf. Overall a real good course. Wound be helpful to play to a few times to know where to leave yourself and have a better idea if the breaks In the greens. Staff was good and the breakfast burrito was tasty and massive (not sure how you can eat the whole thing without taking a nap mid round ). Played from Blues. Generally high 80’s/ low 90’s.

Best course in the area
Greens were very challenging and fairways very nice, enjoyed our day with a nice meal afterwards in the clubhouse

Tour quality conditions
Excellent experience from the beginning to the end. Be prepared to take lots of strokes around and on the greens as they are fast firm and undulating. Extremely well bunkered too with deep traps.

Unfortunately very windy
Nice October day, great Hot deal price for 10AM 35 bucks.
Some spotty bare patches but overall good condition. Fast Greens!
We were a twosome behind several foursomes so play was slow still less then 5 hours.
Unfortunately a very Windy day...tough course to play in windy conditions.

Nice Courses - But the Sand Traps Have No Sand
Both the Legends and Champions courses are great layouts. The greens and fairways of both courses are above average. But the dirt traps are awful - you can't call them sand traps because they have no sand. The lack of sand makes greenside bunker shots nearly impossible. Digging up the dirt was better than nothing, but it still isn't a sand trap without sand.
