About
Situated on the banks of St. Mary’s River about thirty miles north of Jacksonville, White Oak Plantation offers a scenic, secluded round of golf that is open to the public. This 9-hole course is part of a facility that stretches over more than 7,400 acres of carefully preserved land. The course has been host to several famous players including President Bill Clinton, Colin Powell, and Al Gore. There are four sets of tees for players to adjust the game to their own skill levels. Besides being a great golfing destination for beginners, White Oak Plantation is also home to a conservation center for endangered species.

After spending the morning getting a tour of the wildlife sanctuary and a delicious brunch at the lodge, three of us played the White Oak golf course. This is an interesting and challenging nine hole course, but with two sets of tees on each hole. Some involve different yardages, others different angles to the fairway or green. While the practice area was closed due to wet conditions the rest of our time was wonderful. Jamie and Todd took great care of us, the gazebo has water and soft drinks, and the course is in great shape. Greens were true and of a reasonable speed. What a great day.
Great place for an outing with Friends
We took 11 out for a full day. Our fees included all the golf we could play. All the beverages we wanted. Snacks were provided and a great lunch was provided around 12:30. The 9 holes are deceptive because of the multiple tee boxes. For instance , Par 4 4th hole plays along the water for your tee shot. The second time thru, 13th hole, plays over the water. Small greens with lots of break.
