Very good but expected a lot better.
First the good stuff. Great greens. Excellent speed. Very consistent which I love. Amenities if your talking driving range, practice greens, drink cart? All very very good. Awesome cart woman. Super nice and attentive.
Now the rest. If you absolutely love rolling fairways and some just bad lies in the middle of the fairway, you’ll love this design. Perfectly hit drives and you end up with a 25-35 degree lie in any direction. That’s not fair in my eyes. I hit a good drive, I should be rewarded. Not penalized. Not all the fairways are this way but way too many. Always wondered why I don’t hear that Reunion Palmer is one of Orlando’s great golf courses. Now I know. I’ve played Watson but awhile ago., but I do remember liking that course a lot better than Palmer. I’ll stick with that one. Nicklaus still left to try but I hear conditions aren’t great on that one.
Last thing…..Conditions. Tee boxes. Way too chewed up for a course of this pricing. Not all but way too many. About half the fairways suggested I move my ball a bit to get out of weeds and bare spots. Again. Right in the middle of the fairway and I’m looking around for nice grass. Too many times. Rough is hit or miss at best. Bare spots.
This is considered a high end course and resort. You’d expect a high end well kept golf course. Disappointing. I’m going back to Watson next time.
Palmer Course
Palmer layout is a great resort track and playing off the backs it has a low handicap championship feel.
Condition was very good. Course architecture excellent with a great blend of longer and shorter strategic par 4’s. Good range of par 3’s with short iron target golf through to long iron play to well protected greens.
Course has some nice undulation and the putting surfaces were excellent.
Not much between the Palmer and the Watson, maybe Palmer has a longer championship feel with the Watson some shorter more quirky holes but both carry a lot of interest.
Both are really worth the green fee and and you can see why these courses feature in the florida Top 100 courses that you can play,
Nice course but Watson is better
Palmer course is in great condition despite the recent holotiining. Personally too many blind shots caused by numerous mounds and undulating fairways. I prefer Watson which to me was fairer. Palmer is still a great course to play and the staff at Reunion are always awesome.
If you can go, you should go.
For $100 on a hot deal, this was a great value and a great course. It IS a resort course though. Open fairways and thin rough (as long as you stay reasonably close). It has it's challenges if you're in waste areas.
I can't wait to try the other two courses here.
Lovely Course - very quiet
Course was in great condition and not busy so pace of play was good. Good range and putting green and friendly staff. I’ll be back.
Reunion Palmer
Challenging course, beautiful scenery, and great conditions! Beverage service stopped early on a hot day. States Golf Perks offer when booking but all you get is range balls and they charge you a $5 misc fee. Plenty of other courses in the area that are as nice at a better value. Suggestion for the course management would be to actually have a Perk and not cover the range balls with the $5 fee. Other courses offer 2 for 1 drinks, free lunch, discounted soft goods, etc. Starter was not overly friendly or helpful in general. GPS told me to head to Hole 1 about 30min earlier than my tee time so I asked the starter and he stated that it is broken and not to go buy that. Soon after the golfer I was paired with drove up and stated we could tee off now?. The starter was definitely more attentive to the member ladies group at the range. Guys in the clubhouse were great, very friendly. As an intermediate golfer I left thinking it was nice but has so much potential to be GREAT. Why settle for GOOD when you can be GREAT? Hope this helps!
Awesome course but smelled like sewage
Course was great, BUT the back 9 smelled like sewage! We had to cover our faces w/ towels it was so bad on about 3 holes.
First Class Operation
Now this is what I am talking about. Staff was out of this world friendly, from the grounds people, to the pro shop, to the restaurant staff, the starter, literally everyone provided next level service. Greens were great, overall condition great. Course was busy but still got the round in right at 4 hours. It isn't the cheapest course in the area, but you get what you pay for and I would consider this a great value. Will be back for sure.
Nice facility
Cool venue. Will definitely be back to try the other courses.
Greens and Fairways Great Shape!
Resort pace, but we worked it out with another party we were in between. Pace of play was only issue after hole 5, book an early tee time. Thanks for allowing me to play!
