Complaint.
Upon arrival staff guy said I was the only one booked for my tee time. But he could move me into an earlier time with a two or threesome. Pro shop person said no I had to play at appointment time regardless because I booked with golf now. And wasn’t a member .. starter used more common sense and put me out wit h a twosome.
First Class All the Way
Second time playing Nicklaus in about 4 months. I was impressed the first time but my score was a little less impressive. This time scored better, probably from knowing the layout so that has something to do with a second review. Once again the staff is terrific and went out of their way to be accommodating. Starter got me out a little early as I was a single. Course manager checked on me more than once and even asked a slower group of four to let me play through on the front. Course was in great shape and seemed to avoid the dry, hard spots that many of the courses I've played recently have had. Having played the other two courses recently I will say the Nicklaus is the hardest of the three but in excellent shape. If you can treat yourself due to the cost I highly recommend it. More courses should treat you this well.
Challenge
Very nice course. Did not have the excellent and pampered service you would expect at this price range but the course was beautiful
Great shape
The course was fantastic if you like fast greens and plush fairways. The group in front of us was slow but steady. We ended up at the Watson club house first and everybody was friendly and accommodating but not so friendly at the Nicklaus pro shop desk. Over all a great day.
Awesome
Great layout and great course conditions. It’s pricy but FL in February? It’s is going to be expensive for golf. Greens were prefect, fairways were in great shape. Much better course then the other two course in Reunion.
Great day of golf
It was a true Nicklaus design. Plenty of fairway bunkers, smaller, fast, elevated greens, sloping fairways. We really enjoyed playing the course but in the end the key question is whether any course it worth the price they charge.
Reunion Nicklaus a Real Treat
Reunion/Nicklaus is one of the toughest courses I've played in Central Fla, today because of the chilly/windy conditions, but the greens are treacherous. They are so very quick, but undulations make for a tough putting experience. The layout is carved out of nice rolling terrain, and the surrounding homes (huge buffer zone for wayward shots) are spectacular. All holes have character, the par5s are tough, the par3s have good length variance,(#16 is signature hole); but the keys to success (scoring) is keep the ball out of bunkers and avoid the 3putts (I may have even 4putted #8). I followed up with kick-in Birdie #9, but few GiRs left me on Bogie Train all afternoon. Staff --starter, cart guy & bev-cart were really nice, so all things encourage a return visit. Thanx to GolfNow for the access to this premier course in Orlando.
Single on a Friday morning
They put me out as a single on a Friday morning. I was constantly running into the foursome ahead of me. Some waived/shouted me ahead of them and were not very happy. Four foursomes waived me through, so I had to hurry up and “finish” 5-6 holes at warp speed. Having people constantly mad at you because you are always up on them and not finishing 5-6 holes, made this experience not pleasant. The anxiety I felt was definitely not worth the $180 to play here.
This course was different for each hole
This course was challenging yet very fun, hilly and flat. Every hole was picturesque, course was in great condition, staff was extremely helpful, will definitely be back to play this course. Hole 18 was awesome. Lightning quick greens on every hole.
Great day as usual
Played this course about 5 times over 9 years. It’s not as pristine as it was 9 years ago, but it’s still in great shape. Greens are in great shape and roll around 12. Fairways are right and a little soft at the moment due to months of rain. The rough has some crab grass and the sand is very compacted and wet. The course is very challenging and I love it. Would definitely recommend. The range is included and staff is nice.
Jacks Course
I wanted to play all 3 reunion courses before i reviewed any of them and i started with the Nickalaus course. I think this is definetly the hardest of the 3 courses. You have to drive the ball really well on this course and then really hit your yardages with your irons. Large uplifted greens with tightly mowed perimeters make it very tough to keep it near in the pins if your not right on with your distances. This is a great layout, extremely well maintained and fun to play. I have played nearly every course in the central florida area and these 3 courses are easily the best in the area. The only ones that compare are the courses at the world golf hall of fame in St Augustine., If you want to play some great courses, definetly take a trip to reunion.....
Well Protected
Greens are well protected and have false fronts or are small. Distance accuracy is key!! Not for beginners!! Need to play it a few times to know how to safely get around!!
Not for the Faint of Heart
Very difficult course that requires course knowledge and precise shots. Greens are quick and undulating with false fronts and are very protected by multiple traps. Probably takes multiple times to know how to play each hole.
