About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

COMING BACK
LOVE THE LAYOUT OF THIS COURSE,STILL HAS SOME ISSUES BACK 9 NEEDS SOME SMOOTHING OUT ON THE FAIRWAYS GREENS ARE FAST BUT IN GREAT SHAPE BUT ALOT BETTER THAN THE LAST TIME I PLAYED IT GIVE IT A TRY ITS A FAIR PRICE ON GOLF NOW

Course Conditions are Improving
The course conditions are much better than they were in the summer. There are still some areas in the fairways in need of some work. There are patchy areas with grass missing in several of the fairways. The greens are much improved from the last time I played here. Overall the course is fun and provides a challenge. I will be back to play Eagle Dunes again.

Nice course. Torn up fairways
Nice course but some of the fairways are pretty rough. I’ve played nicer courses for far less.

Always fun!
Lot of work has been done the course. Plenty of fresh sod laid. Run off areas shored up. Ground prepared for mor sod. Greens in great shape and rolling fast. Driving range, pitching/bunker area and putting green available to work on your whole game. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Always love coming out here. See you soon!

Fairways pathetic
While the greens remain in pretty good shape, the fairways continue to be sketchy. They have many bare spots and challlenge the concept of play the ball as it lies. I hit the ball straight and do not appreciate getting a lie which is bare dirt in the middle of the fairway.

Really a shame
I really don’t want to write a poor review as I really like the course the way it used to be.
I decided to try the course again after avoiding it for over a year due to really poor conditions, I read a few glowing recent reviews and decided to give it another try. Honestly I do not believe these reviews to be sincere. The course conditions are actually worse than a year ago, and one of the players in our group actually left early as he was worn out hitting off hardpan surfaces.
That player that left was also forced to pay $20 for his own cart, and he was really upset about it as the course was very empty and surely that is ridiculous when offering a course of this standard.
I hope the course will recover, you can no longer coast on the fact your greens are OK, when fairways are in such horrible condition.
Ive literally been saying this for 5 years about this dump. Even the staff who work there will tell you the owners could care less about this place, they just continue to laugh at the poor suckers who pay the ever increasing fees, for an ever worsening excuse for a golf course.
This course is for those who dont care about conditions, its all about quantity of holes per day. AKA Members.
One of the worst (if not the worst ive seen) courses anywhere in Central Florida.

Saturday play with the family
This was a great course to play with my wife and her sister, who are beginning golfers. Even though the course was crowded, they still had a nice piece of play, and no one was rushing. I would recommend this course to any person who has a new golfer. The only thing I would suggest is to get real restrooms instead of porta potties

Fun Design, Enjoyable Round
First time out to Eagle Dunes, friends have played in past and have mentioned quite awful course conditions. However, on playing today, Fairways were okay, Greens rolled true, average overall conditions but have played much worse, hopefully it is continuing maintenance to fix. The layout is very tricky, lots of blind fairways and massive duned bunkers that are pretty much a death sentence for your score. #10 has one of the smallest landing zones I have ever seen, and the vista when you walk up to the pro shop is quite beautiful. All around enjoyable golf, lovely staff, very nice foursome who played perfect pace but even still allowed us to pass in order have an open course ahead of them. Was a good morning, will come back to master the interesting course design.

Great to play
Even after the rain the day before , the course was still in good shape. Great place to play at a great rate. Nice to have some elevation and challenging holes.

Good greens
I would give the greens 4 stars. The fairways are a little sparse and places, but playable I would give them three stars. they just mowed the rough so it’s in great shape. And the bunkers are very well cared for. The course is fun and has a lot of interesting And challenging holes. Worth checking out if you can get a good deal on tee times ..
