About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Improving
It was nice to see that improvements are being made to the course since the last time I played there. However, there is still much to be done to bring the course up to par. Hopefully improvements will continue.

Course was in okay shape. Tee boxes under repair, fairways had some bald areas and several areas under repair. Greens were fine. Several washed out areas but still playable.

Good shape
Course in good shape. Pace of play was good except 2 old men that were holding several groups by not letting anyone play through. Not the staff's fault.

Amazing course
This was my 3rd time playing this course and I liked it so much I did it in 2 weeks it's my favorite course. I have played in Florida I have lived here for 15 years. I will be playing here quite a bit.

weak greens
Greens normally best part of this course seem to be having problems.

Tee boxes
I absolutely love this course, but the tee boxes need some love. Some of them are straight up dirt and have been neglected for what seems like years. Also there always seems to be a group behind my group that wants to play at the speed of light even though they can’t hit a fairway to save their lives.
So why not let them through and enjoy your round at your own pace. Maybe you are just playing extremely slow and are the real problem...

Pace of play was great and greens were mostly fine .some of fairways needs help and few of them had no grass.

Played only 9 of 18 holes due to rain. Played this course several times before. The rain and wet conditions made it quite challenging. On a dry day, very nice course.

Three star rating was due to the tee boxes needing TLC. The bunkers that have not been maintained with most being hard and packed down, The fairways are improving but there are areas that we play lift clean and place due to the dead spots.

Course conditions
In my opinion, the course needs lots of tlc. And yard markers, and a cart girl, better lunch/snacks at the turn. Greens were good, but fairways were unacceptable. Tee boxes looked horrible. I won't be back, tbh

Great Track Needs Work
Great track, however, tee boxes and fairways need work! Greens and bunkers decent, but fairways sparse and few tee boxes had no grass to speak of. Track challenging and course would be top five when fairways and tee boxes are addressed by course manager.

If there is one, they should be fired for letting a course get into the condition its been in for years..
Course is a goat track, in every way possible.
On top of that they have broken and cracked golf balls, at least 5 years old, and a range with zero grass and holes so bad it looks like a construction site.

Great Course
Some of the tee boxes need some work, they were just dirt. Some areas around a few of the greens were dead grass/dirt and needed some work. Course layout is great and with some TLC this will be an outstanding course again. The greens were all in very good shape. It was still a great round of golf and I will play Eagle Dunes again.

Very Poor
Just not in good shape. Tee boxes are chewed up, fairways are bare at best, complete dirt at worst. Anything off the fairway or around the green is worse.
Greens are in good shape, which is the hook for some players, but everything between tee and green is just not how golf should be.
It's a real shame as the layout here is fantastic. So much potential if someone were prepared to invest the proper funds to bring this place back up to scratch. As it stands, I wouldn't play here again even if were offered to be free of charge.
