About
The Golf Club at Fleming Island has a diverse landscape that allows for two distinctly different nines. The front nine of the golf course is wide open with waste areas and wetlands to create a classic links feeling. In contrast, the back nine was carved from dense forests, giving a more secluded atmosphere. There are sand bunkers strategically placed across the rolling landscape and water comes into play throughout. The fairways on this golf course are misleading, they are not as tight as they seem from the tees. Although the Golf Club at Fleming Island can be a challenge, there are five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Golfer Reviews
Greens Sandy in spots
Overall course in good shape, with the exception of several of the greens having sand in several spots on quite a number of holes.
Excellent fairways
Greens have been better but the fairways were in very good condition
Slow play
I see a lot with 7 guys on a green. Then you have a back up with groups waiting to play I played Thursday 9/12/19. I followed a group of three. There were busy hunting for golf balls. Lots of slow play on the course.
A warm day.
On one of the hottest days I played this course all by myself. No people in front of me and nobody behind me. I made a competition with a pinnacle and a Nike ball. I found the place in good condition and the pinnacle won.
Pace of play
Started out with a group of 5 in front us. We teed off at 738. The ranger was allowing groups of five based on them not hitting “mulligans”. The course was in ok shape.... but there was two 6some groups out there. One guy was even
Wearing a regular tee shirt out there. Not proper attire. Nobody was enforcing pace of play. It’s very irritating having a 6some in front of you and knowing you have to rush your shot because of pace of play giving the fact we are teeing off in the morning
Very Consistent Greens
Tee time was 7:54 on a Tuesday morning, no one on the range, saw one person tee off about 7:15.
Course was in great shape, a little standing water but can’t blame the course just typical Jacksonville weather. The greens were well above average, and extremely consistent. When we reached the back nine there were maintenance personnel on the 10th green then on every tee box until about the 14th which wasn’t ideal but not a huge deal. Overall one of my favorite courses in the Jacksonville area
Great layout with a challenge for all skills..
This is a great golf course that is in excellent condition even though it was wet and was cart path only.
In better condition than we had heard
Pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course. We have played Fleming Island since it first opened. Haven’t platyed for awhile because we moved away. Felt like coming home to play here again.
Great Course
Fleming is in great shape right now. Best I’ve seen in a while. Greens roll true. Little slow but that’s because of all the rain. Course drained well after 5-6 straight days of rain. They need to trim down some of bushes/weeds in the waste area on some of the forced carry tee shots. Can’t see the fairway or green on the other side. Had a single hit into us because of this. Not his fault really. Cart service was great. Pace great. Well be back again in a couple weeks. The cats Brassy and Divot are awesome. 8-)
Really enjoyed!
Good layout, friendly people, and the course was in good shape
Enjoyed our round very much. Course is in great shape in spite of the very dry conditions. Most courses around JAX have greens that are not anywhere close to being in this shape. Was very happy to play at Fleming Island at a great price too.
Hot Day Of Golf
It was a mostly sunny day with temps in the 90's so the course wasn't hugely busy. As a result pace of play wasn't an issue. I have played here a couple times previously and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. The course was in really good condition considering a lack of rain lately. As usual, the greens were in great shape (although a couple had some burnout and were being re-seeded) and the fairways were also in excellent condition. Fleming Island has one of the nicest ranges you'll find at a public course! The turf was freshly mowed and in spectacular shape, multiple target flags, etc. Despite the heat, I had a great experience at Fleming Island from my first step into the Pro Shop until my final putt!
Nice
Course in good shape. Fun to play with no 2 holes alike. Friendly staff, no bag attendants, load your own and check in to get a key. Then off to the range or check in with the starter. I love this place.
