Fleming Island Golf Club

Used to play Fleming Island a lot when it opened 16 yrs ago but have not played it in six years. We remembered this course as having beautiful lush fairways and soft and fast greens. Now, it was a bit crusty and dry - had to hammer tees into the tee-boxes. Got caught behind mowing crew on front nine and nothing but dust and dirt blew up instead of clippings. Even the marshes and creeks alongside the fairways were totally dried up.

All that aside, the course is in playable shape with fast greens and fairways which are cut thin. Better golfers will like this. There was no starter when we played but luckily, the groups that jumped out ahead of us were good sticks and moved right thru. We'll hope for rain or greater use of sprinkler system and play here again.

First time here and it was not disappointing. The course was in great shape. Also, this is a very different type of course than others in the area with all of the mounds. The staff was great as well. The hot deal made this place an absolute steal. Greens were true. Only real complaint was that some of the teeing grounds needed work, but have definitely seen worse.

Played here on a golf trip and it was recommended by our resort guy. It did not disappoint, course was beautiful, greens rolled true tee boxes were flat. Absolutely one of the best courses we played this past week.

The allow fivesomes on this course. We are currently behind several. I'm estimating it will be close to 3 hours to play the front. Don't come here unless you have time to waste.

We read the reviews. Not what we expected. Course layout is meant for very accurate golfers. Condition of course was (in my opinion) poor. Greens were better than rest of course. Won't be back.

I was impressed with the course. It had some great views and made you hit some difficult shots. The greens rolled true and proved to be an entertaining test. Drove down from Jacksonville, was worth the trip. Will play again.

The course was in great shape, just a few hiccups nothing you couldn't play thru. I will play again more than once. Golf Now prices is much better than the course price.

Course in good shape with challenging but fun and fair layout.

Had a great time playing here. My playing partners were very friendly and the course provided some good challenges. I enjoyed my round.

The price was definitely right. The Soul Patrol was on it's annual golf tournament tour this time it was Jacksonville and we thoroughly enjoyed Fleming Island. THe white tees played a lot tougher than we bargained for but it leveled the playing field. Great staff, very personable and knowledgeable. We got a great deal on Military Tee Times and they adjusted our tee times so our two groups followed each other. Will definitely read recommend to friends and will be back to play again in the near future.

The course conditions were extremely WET! The cart preceding me cut ruts into the fairway and had a total disregard for the wet conditions. Everything was soft and wet including the greens which were slow and poor. The staff was okay, however it should have not been played in that condition. I would not recommend this course until really good weather exists.

Day began by NOT informing us to START on #10. The club members rudely informed us - way too late.
Absolutely NO grass on the greens or fairways; few people FIX their ball-marks on the green. The members treated the course as if it was their personal driving range (no rangering here). A beautiful day, ruined by a lack of management and golf etiquette.
NEVER AGAIN.

A few greens were a little spotty, otherwise a good course to play....keep the ball down the middle, some fairways are pretty tight.

I enjoy playing this course, but won't be back.

We were a twosome booked 20 mins behind two fivesomes that were back-to-back and we were not waived through. Our day at golf was spoiled by staff not warning us about the fivesomes.

The course was in good shape all except for the greens. They must have lost them to fungus or some other disease. They were shaggy, sandy and slow. Played in 3:40 but there was hardly anyone on the course. Staff was friendly and attentive. Liked the course in the past but will have to wait for awhile to see if the greens come back. I hope they do

Good variety of challenges, some narrow, some water. Love the sandy path, adds character. Nice folks too.

I will say this course is the best of both worlds, it is challenging you on every shot but also very playable and fun, the greens were very well maintained, the course overall was just a pleasure to enjoy and I look forward to playing there many more times in the future, Thanks You to the staff (everyone )

Course was in good shape tee to green. The only feature in better shape than the course is the cart girl.
