About
The Golf Club at Fleming Island has a diverse landscape that allows for two distinctly different nines. The front nine of the golf course is wide open with waste areas and wetlands to create a classic links feeling. In contrast, the back nine was carved from dense forests, giving a more secluded atmosphere. There are sand bunkers strategically placed across the rolling landscape and water comes into play throughout. The fairways on this golf course are misleading, they are not as tight as they seem from the tees. Although the Golf Club at Fleming Island can be a challenge, there are five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Nice course slow play.
Another typical round at Fleming Island. After the first hole the waiting began. Two groups on the third tee didn't impress anyone. The ranger came around and basically stuck his nose in the air at us. No help whatsoever. Tee off at 11 finished in 5 hours. done at 4.

5 star quality
Was lucky enough to get out here for the first time this past weekend. Had a 7am tee time and finished in 4 hrs. Course was in top shape- greens, fairways, bunkers were all perfect. Was surprised at how rather slow the greens felt, but they were in great shape. We played from the back tees to add to the challenge, but otherwise a fair layout. Loved the closing stretch wrapping up with a par 3, 5, 3, 5-- very nice touch!

Greens are bad
What happened to the greens they were pretty bad when I was out there. They look like they were overtaken by a fungus?? Other than that the course was nice. the speed of play was great and the staff was awesome.

Always a challenge
Tough course, but enjoyable , you definitely have to think about your next shot. I will always come here when the opportunity presents itself. Fleming Island is tough but fair no matter the tee box. It is well kept.

Challenging but fair
My first time on course and we were paired up with another father and son. Great rounds by all four of us. Course has some very challenging holes and course knowledge is a definite plus. Greens were in great shape and the facilities and staff were excellent

Excellent value close to Jacksonville
Greens fee plus taxes/other fees totaled only $33 per player - by far the nicest course played for that price in the Jacksonville area. Fairways were a little hard, greens a little softer but rolled true. Not a lot of water, but fairways lightly bunkered with more bunkers around the greens. Most fairways are narrow, so decided at our handicaps to play from the whites to make a more enjoyable afternoon. Staff was excellent from check-in to the 19th hole. Very few golfers on the course (Saturday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend).

Nice Layout and conditions
Played Memorial Day Saturday at 1 pm and finished my round in less than four hours. Better than that, the layout is among the best of the public courses I have played during my year in JAX, and the condition of the course was generally good. The only criticism is that the greens were showing some stress (perhaps from the recent heat and lack of rain); the fairways, however, were in very good shape. I suspect the upcoming aeration and top dressing will help the greens. Can't wait to return in a few weeks after greens are smooth again. This will be in my regular JAX public rotation going forward.

Fleming Island Plantation GC
Sunday afternoon Hotdeal, course was easy to find and not overly crowded, played in a foursome in 4 hours. Overall conditions were good from tee to green except a few greens were a little patchy not affecting play. Spacious fairways with generally good lies. Greens rolled well medium speed, recommend. Noticed sign for airation alert 6/1/16..

No Subject
Course has several challenging holes but also supply several birdie holes especially one of the par 4's on the back that is reachable in 1 but best option is to layup with a fairway wood or low iron and leave a wedge in. Fairways and tee boxes were in great condition and the greens were rolling pretty good as well.

GREAT round fo golf
Early Sunday NOT crowded - starter let us go out 20 minutes ahead of our 8:15 tee time. Group in front stayed one hole ahead/group behind kept at least one hole behind. Kept that pace and finished the round without having to wait or feeling pressure to speed things up. Course was in great shape! We will be back. Pro shop staff very friendly. Drinking water throughout the course but no snack/drink cart. Good job opportunity for the summer for someone.
