Fleming Island Golf Club
About
The Golf Club at Fleming Island has a diverse landscape that allows for two distinctly different nines. The front nine of the golf course is wide open with waste areas and wetlands to create a classic links feeling. In contrast, the back nine was carved from dense forests, giving a more secluded atmosphere. There are sand bunkers strategically placed across the rolling landscape and water comes into play throughout. The fairways on this golf course are misleading, they are not as tight as they seem from the tees. Although the Golf Club at Fleming Island can be a challenge, there are five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

REVIEW
THIS WEEK WE HAD A GOOD TIME AT FLEMING ISLAND GOLF COURSE. I HADN'T PLAYED FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS. COURSE IN GOOD CONDITION , GREENS ROLLING GOOD. THE KITCHEN CLOSED WHEN WE GOT DONE BUT THE BARTENDER AND CHEF STILL HAPPEN TO BE AROUND AND THE CHEF WET BACK IN KITCHEN AND MADE ME A KILLER CLUB SANDWICH. NOW THAT WAS REALLY NICE AND GOING OUT OF HIS WAY. RED HEADED GIRL BEHIND BAR WAS REALLY NICE TOO. WE WILL BE BACK TO PLAY THAT COURSE AGAIN SOON.
Jaxmanz
Very friendly staff. Good driving range and putting green. Nice open layout, greens in good condition, a little slower than I like but receptive. Fluffy bunkers, which I enjoyed hitting out of. Will put this course back into my rotation.
Challenging layout in very good condition
We drove almost an hour to play this course and it was well worth it. Very interesting holes with a Donald Ross influence of tricky greens. Course in very good condition. Very friendly pro shop staff. Worth the ride, a great value.
Nothing special
This course is one of the longer courses I've played. Only a couple of par 3s, so kind of challenging for newer golfers like myself who don't have a long drive off the tee. Luckily the he's are straight, not a lot of doglegs or hazards to get in your way. I'd play it again if I can find a golf now hot deal or something.
very nice condition
This is the second time I played here. The greens were in good shape and consistent throughout. Plenty of tee boxes to choose from.. all the way up to almost 7000 yards. The course has a good mixture of water and other hazards. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the course. A good value.
Had a nice time
Everything was good except for pace of play. Over 4.5 hrs. Never saw a marshall.
Great Cheeseburger.
The greens are in good shape.
Always a good staff working. They just repaired the bunkers. Some of the greens were okay only because of the ground being wet. Once it got warm out the greens were nice.
Rained Out
We were pretty much rained out after 8. Went to the clubhouse and they had closed the course .. so we could not make the turn. The course was very soggy and played somewhat difficult without much ball roll
Rough around the edges
Thought the course was a tad scruffy and not well maintained
Overbooked
2-1/2 hrs to play front nine. Course over booked and a large outing scheduled. Super slow play and they ran out carts, did not even get to play back nine, had to play front again just to get done before dark. Saw other people quit after several holes due to waiting 10 or more minutes to tee off on each hole. Golf is supposed to be relaxing and fun, not here. Hey, at least the course made money.
was cart path only, but it was in great shape
The course was wet and cart path only. But it was not soogie. I was happy to see the ground crew out making improvements. Pace of play was great. I look forward to my next round there.
fairly decent
The layout of the course is very good. It has some challenging holes.
The fairways are hard and dry. Makes the course plays shorter than it is.
the greens are very well guarded by bunkers and elevations.
There needs to be better signage to help guide the golfers who are not familiar with the facility.
This course needs some organization
No starter, no ranger - people get a cart at the clubhouse and head out to the driving range and then they decide what time to tee off and with who. Big gap in the pace of play where a ranger would help to speed that up.
Poor for the money....new owners?
Poor greens and sand traps on first 9
When we got back the staff did even say hi or helped us with the bags, although i had tipted him on arrival!
Slow play
Slow play is killing golf course incomes and this course is looking for new members so why would they put a 5 some of members out there who refuse to let a 2 some play through even when they had at least 2 holes open in front of them.. This is not the kind of people I want to play with daily. If you don't play behind these guys the course is very nice. How do I know they were members Kevin had his name on his bag for everybody to see. They also want more than $2.00 for a candy bar.
Good layout, nice greens, and varied hole designs.
Not a boring golf course. A fair amount of water, but generous greens.
Slow!!
This is a good course with a good layout but the staff needs to keep the slow players moving on the weekend. Waited on every shot on every hole. Hard to get into a rhythm when you are waiting all of the time. The greens look and roll good but are slower than most I have played on lately. A bright spot is that this is one of the few courses in the area that have over-seeded their fairways. It is nice to hit shots off live grass rather than dormant grass. If you play here just bring all of the patience you have.
Good desigb, good condition
Will return to play again. Staff very friendly and course in good condition
Don't Kill Yourself
They've recofigured the course so there are now 6 tee boxes (7 if you include the blue/white combo) and I think they've finally got it right in terms of a fair test for all skill levels. A reminder, this is Par 71 course, and given the yardage of it, I'd' recommend playing from a tee box closer than you typically would. The course and greens are plenty challenging enough to make up for it, especially the front 9. The greens are in superb shape for the end of the year and have more than a couple sneaky breaks in them. One thing I would like to see improve is more yardage markers. Always seemed like I was looking a little longer than I should have to find distances.
