The course was in great condition, fairways, bunkers and greens all lovely. The layout is fantastic with lots of twists and bends and elevation, one of the more interesting golf courses I have played in the area.

Always my favorite course. Last two times out the greens have been patchy. Hope they consider putting some effort into getting them back in shape.

I haven't played in over a year due to #1 green being lost. It has been repaired, although still in rough shape.

The course is in really good shape, bunkers are maintained, fairways are rolling fast, it's just the greens, they are the worst greens in all of north county..Besides being very slow, some are patchy and inconsistent from one to the next. It's too bad I love the layout and the feel of the amenities, but until the greens become more playable, I will only play at a discount price.

5 1/2 hour round; most greens were diseased and some had tractor/tire tracks in some areas; $60 price; cart lost power on hole 16? Not worth the money to play the course. The staff and cart person were very nice! Other than that, we were not happy at all.

Love this course, the layout is superior to those in the area. But what is going on with the greens? Very bumpy and shoddy, especially on the front 9. Granted, we played like crap, but the greens didn't help. And we lost a few balls in the leaves on the fairways. Reminds me of the old Fallbrook Course. Lots of work going on around the course. Hope some of it is done to the greens. They need TLC. Still one of my favorite courses even though I feel like I went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson after it's over.

The golf course will provide all levels of enjoyment. Over the past few months the course is come around to it original conditions...a few greens still need a bit of time to come back. That said, they are making some great tee box improvements and to the bunkers. Go play it and have some fun.

This is my second similar review in two weeks. Love this course, great layout etc. The greens continue to be subpar. I was told they were top dressed in mid-October. Two weeks ago they were still too long, bumpy and inconsistent. Frustratingly, the same conditions persist. They need to be rolled! I've golfed 16 days this month in the area (between Temecula and Oceanside) and the greens here standout for all the wrong reasons. I really like this course but won't be returning for a while now

Here visiting from Texas thought we’d play some golf! Pro shop staff was very helpful and gave me yardage book for reference so we wouldn’t get lost! Good thing, the track is kind of scattered out so you have to pay close attention where you’re going! Very much enjoyed the round the course was in good condition considering you guys haven’t had rain since who knows when?

The only thing I would have liked to see is some type of yardage stakes besides just a 150 marker or yardage in the yardage book? And second more drinking water would be nice on course.

Great layout. Fairways excellent. Superb deal on golf now ($37) My only complaint - I was told that the greens were punched 3 weeks ago. I expected them to be in way better shape by now.... long, still punch marks and very bumpy. Should be cut to normal length and rolled by now.

Loved the layout of the course in its entirety. Loved the bar, the pro shop and the awesome staff. A majority of those putting greens, however, need a little work.

Course used to be excellent. Has gone down hill some over the past few years. Still a decent course though. Just wouldn't pay over $35 to golf it though.

This course has GREAT bones. Unfortunately, right now it's very dry and some of the greens (including the practice green) have been hit severely with a spreading fungus. Mangement...if you read this, please reply with what's being done to bring this fine course back to it's deserved fine condition. I love this course but would need some improvement in the conditions to come back.

The staff was very friendly. The course was in terrible shape. The greens looked like they have a fungus, most were horrible and extremely slow. The fairways were bare as well. Even the range balls were so old and worn.

They need to do something to improve the conditions.

This course is in definate need of water. Greens are spotty from herbicide, hard and dry.

The last time I played The Golf Club of California, about 3 years ago, it was quite lush, difficult and beautifully laid out, even though walking the course would be impossible because of the extreme distances between greens and tees. Today the experience was most trying because course personnel seem to be trying to save expenses by minimal watering. Fairways are sparsely grown with the thinnest brushing of grass, making for very tight lies. Worse are the greens, which are suffering from some kind of disease. There should have been some kind of advisory message that the Club of California was having some issues that would make the day a special challenge.
