About
Situated just outside of Temecula, the Golf Club of California enjoys a scenic landscape provided by the rolling hills north of San Diego. The terrain is ideal for a round of golf, offering verdant acres of countryside blanketed with mature oaks, sycamores, and towering eucalyptus trees and accented with redtop grasses, which border the carefully manicured fairways and greens. Although there is an abundance of trees, the course still has many wide-open areas. The pristine white sand bunkers and colorful wildflowers are a beautiful contrast to the lush green of the course. The layout is not particularly long, but golfers should be prepared for a challenging round of target golf. The course features narrows fairways, plenty of elevation changes, and tricky greens that require an accurate approach. There are also a few meandering creeks that come into play.

The staff is great, conditions were slightly above average but the pace was horrible. And you had a twosome who just decided to skip a group behind me and myself when there was another group of 4 that were in front that was playing slow. Turns out that they "play here thousands of times" so they thought they could do whatever they want. This was after the 5th hole!
Don't overbook players in one day or have two staff members (front and back 9) making sure the groups are moving in proper pace.

Played here 2 years ago. Not in very good shape then. Was pleasantly surprised by conditions now. Greens ran true and were in good shape. Fairways a little sparse and dry, but that is to be expected in Socal at this time of year. Teeboxes were in adequate shape. Pace of play on a Sunday afternoon was under 4 hours. Check-in, starter and Marshall were all friendly. Never saw a beverage cart. My wife and I decided we would definitely be back. Good value for the price.

Enjoyable day
My wife and I played here on a recommendation of a friend. It was our first visit, but won’t be our last.
Staff in the pro shop and the lounge very helpful and friendly. Pro shop provided a yardage book which was very helpful for our first visit.
The course is in very good condition. The tee boxes are well maintained and lush. Hardly a broken tee found on each tee box. Fairways in very good condition. Bunkers in excellent condition. But the real star are the greens. They were in outstanding condition, and putted very true.
If there was a drawback it was the pace of play. We went off at 1:10 as a twosome. Understand we were a twosome, but there was only a threesome in front of us and no other group in front of the them for two or more holes. We played the first nine in 2:43, but to be honest we weren’t in a rush. Since there was no other groups in sight behind us all day we took the opportunity to do some practice putting.
One person in the threesome ahead dropped at the turn which enabled us to finish the back nine in about 1:35. As I indicated, we weren’t in a hurry so we just enjoyed the day and the course!

Great course!! Played in <4 hours!
What a great course. Condition of the course was very good. Pace of play was great. There's houses around that can be seen while playing, but they're not really on the course and you'd have to really hook\slice a ball to come close to hitting a house. Price for weekday was good, especially cor someone that lives in Orange County.
The one complaint that seems to echo through most reviews is the demeanor of the people who work there. I didn't deal with him, but my buddy said the pro shop guy was a little terse, but nothing too bad. Starter was friendly enough. Didn't see any cart girl on the course, but it was midday Monday.
Both my friend and I really liked this course and would happily play there again. Overall it's a 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Course and one of the nicer courses in North San Diego.

Great course
First time here. The course is in great shape. The fairways and greens were better than most courses I've played this year. Fun and challenging and lost a couple of balls but that's my game. Definitely coming back

Beautiful course
This is a really good course.. We played quickly and enjoyed the views and conditions. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They don't have food service at present, but the bar was open. I will play there again shortly.

Great Hidden course
My Brother and I were looking to play the old Fallbrook Country Club course ,which we played with our Dad when we were young, but found out it was turned into a vineyard! The Golf Club of California is in the same general area and is now our replacement for that lost hidden gem. The course is in really good shape, challenging for all levels and the price is lower than most coastal golf courses. Of course because of CoVid the amenities are limited but they did have cart service and we had some lunch at the indoor restaurant. I would give it 4.5 stars but that wasn't on the list.

Fun course
Pace of play was pretty good even playing as a threesome with a 5some ahead of us. We played in under 4 hours. A couple of hole required the ability to move ball left to right, or right to left to end up with good second shot. It was really fun even for a hacker like me.

Challenging
129 Slope Rating from white seemed too low. Greens in great condition, fairways had some burn spots, bunkers have the whitest sand we've ever seen.
