About
Situated just outside of Temecula, the Golf Club of California enjoys a scenic landscape provided by the rolling hills north of San Diego. The terrain is ideal for a round of golf, offering verdant acres of countryside blanketed with mature oaks, sycamores, and towering eucalyptus trees and accented with redtop grasses, which border the carefully manicured fairways and greens. Although there is an abundance of trees, the course still has many wide-open areas. The pristine white sand bunkers and colorful wildflowers are a beautiful contrast to the lush green of the course. The layout is not particularly long, but golfers should be prepared for a challenging round of target golf. The course features narrows fairways, plenty of elevation changes, and tricky greens that require an accurate approach. There are also a few meandering creeks that come into play.

Looking better
Last played GCoC a few years back during a drought and only can remember the green spray painted fairways. Thankfully that is behind as the course is looking good. More importantly, and a small detail, is that the sand in the bunkers is fresh. Can't say that of some other courses in this category. Funniest thing is that they say "no chipping on greens" yet there is a bunker in the middle of the 7th green....how are you supposed to get over that without 3 putting? Only thing that would be nice is if they'd put some water stations out on the course.

Solid course….
Been playing here for 10+years, this is probably the best shape I can remember the course being in. Always a fun time, tough track, great bunkers and greens…

Poor choice
I want my money back. It was so backed up from the get go. Apparently there was a tournament right before. They should have refunded us. We paid 178 dollars for 9 holes at 4 hours. Never again

Great layout.
Very challenging for the average player but we'll worth it. People are great that work there and the starter was way cool. His name is Colin cool dude!! Have fun

Amazing and challenging course..but…
The course is always on point and challenging. So Nothing bad to say about that. But today the pace of play just wasn’t in our favor…slow n backed up. However I’ve never seen this here. So I’m not complaining… However Zero snack shop open in the am…so no coffee or breakfast didn’t help. Let alone zero cart girl with any drinks offers while playing a 5 hour round didn’t help. Course =10 Service =2

Fun round and great staff
The team at Golf Club of California is top notch for a member experience, even if you are not a member. From the introduction at the pro shop to the staff in the restaurant to the cart girl, they are all there to make sure you enjoy your round.
I played in dry conditions, so the course played shorter than I imagine it would have otherwise, so it may have played harder if your ball was going off line. The greens were excellent and very consistent and the lies in the fairway were tight and reminded me of Ireland.
The members I met up with on the back nine were friendly and welcoming to a newbie on the course..
