Alaqua Country Club
About
Alaqua Country Club was designed by golf legend Gary Player and opened in 1988. Player put his personal stamp on the private 18-hole golf course, with its elevated tees and other features that make it playable for his level of golfer as well as high handicappers.
Alaqua Country Club leads off with a 501-yard par-5 hole, a picturesque tee shot from an elevated tee. There is water on the left all the way to the green and a wooded area on the right. The fairway narrows the last 50 yards to the green.
The golf course measures 6,662 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.3, and it has a slope rating of 129 on Bermuda grass

Course great; Pro Shop Closed Early
Course was fine - a great value for the money. Course in nice condition, very picturesque and some really nice, memorable holes. My only concern was that when we made the turn around 3:15 pm (on a Tuesday), the pro shop and dining area was closed. One of my playing partners is a diabetic and needed a snack, but couldn't get one. I know that they were a bit understaffed when I checked in, but it seems that they do need to plan better so this wouldn't happen. Otherwise we had a lot of fun.
Very challenging. Shotmaker's course.
Alaqua is a beautiful course with many challenges.
A fun and challenging course
A great course that requires 'target golf' on several holes. The landing areas are generous but you need to play to a distance. I enjoyed thinking my way around the course.
The greens are responsive and run true at a good pace. They are not overly difficult and have little undulation.
The staff was very cordial. I will definitely play this course again and recommend it to others.
Great Course
The course is great , to bad the day we play, the front 9 were in really bad shape, almost impossible to play even w/ cart path only.
to much water. back 9, were ok.
Excellent Layout
Great Layout and friendly staff! Course was in good condition, the reason I did not rate pristine was two greens have some damage that is in the process of repair. ALL other greens were near perfect and roll true. Some very tight holes on this course that require accurate approaches to small greens. Very well laid out course. Worth playing and will be playing again this week.
The course would be great if the greens were better
Al though very damp was in pretty good condition. The greens seem to be having some issues, but they are working on them.
Great service and freindly staff, nice course
The staff was extremely accomodating. The condition of the course was above average but not perfect. A great value and well worth every dime spent. Would play again and again. Our pace of play was slower then I like but that was only becasue we had a higher handicap player in our group.
Thanks
Really Nice Course, Great Value
The course is inside a wealthy gated community and is peaceful, pretty and well designed. Played Alaqua for the first time this year (played it last year once as well), and found it much more enjoyable this time. Maybe because I remembered the layouts as opposed to playing it without a clue as I did the first time. The course was in great shape for the most part -- some tees and greens needed some attention, but did not diminish the overall experience. Challenging in that some of the fairways are on the narrow side and a long hitter will drive through the fairway if unfamiliar with the course. The staff is excellent -- friendly and accommodating. Would be nice if the pro shop had yardage books available for those unfamiliar with the course. Great deal if you can get the member for a day rate.
Quiet and good maintained course, but nothing special to it.
Played from the back tees some holes are long, but still not very challenging. Several fairways were very wet – as well as some roughs were even muddy and unplayable. But the greens are mostly in good shape. Not all bunkers are maintained and really filled with sand. On some parts the car path is broken.
But despite all that it is a very pleasant course, very quiet, well playable and overall a good golf experience. The stuff is friendly.
Tricky golf course.
This course has a great layout - however the day I played it was very wet and the course personnel should have made it cart path only because golf carts were only worsening the conditions. I also paid the lowest green fees thanks to Golfnow - so I couldn't complain too much.
What a great course & price was outstanding, looking forward to next visit.
Top Notch and one of the best. Will put it on our play here list.
Fabulous layout
This course is really well laid out and tested my game
you have to flight the ball both ways to score well
Some really nice par 3s
Played very long due to lots of rain in september
I would imagine in the dry season this course will be at its best and would be fantastic
I would recomend this course to any golfer visiting orlando /Florida its a must on your list and we will be going back next year
Bring a camera!
This course is beautiful, plenty of deer, birds, turtles and alligators. Ever wonder what a 10 million dollar home looks like. This is the one percent, I am impressed every time I play. Check out the club house and restaurant, you are treated like a member from the time you arrived.
I love this place.
Very dissapointed
Was not told that course was cart paths only and it was so wet at times you could not find your ball in the intermediate rough. No ice or water before we started and nothing on the course. Greens were average at best
Great value, good course
Well maintained, some very good challenging holes. Greens are in good shape, fairways are very good. Every time i play there no cart girl, not good.
Like the member for a day, disliked the guy to clean clubs hanging out on the 18th green, cleaned by clubs without asking so i have to tip.\Overall good value , good course
Very well-manicured course in a very nice setting.

Great Private Course available on Golf Now
The Alaqua Country Club and golf course is a beautiful course with a wonderful layout. Alaqua has a large amount of wildlife on the course like deer and turkeys that adds to its natural preserve appeal. It has always been a private course, so when I saw that it was available on Golf Now I jumped at the chance to play it. While the greens lack on a few holes, it is still a very well maintained course. The facilities and staff are second to none and I always try to book at Alaqua if it is available. I recommend this to anyone looking for a great private course experience at reduced rates.
Excellent Deal
This course has a fantastic layout and is in a beautiful neighborhood. The greens are normally very good, and the staff is as kind as can be. Of all the courses on Golf now, this one is my personal favorite. Can't beat the combination of high quality and low cost.
Best Deal in Town!!!
When you can play Alaqua for roughly the same price as Casselberry and Deer Run....Alaqua is the ONLY way to go. Course was in great shape. We saw deer all day long. And the homes in the neighborhood are amazing. We saw one home that had to be 20,000 square feet. I can only hope Alaqua keeps offering tee times to the general public.
