Usually better
I have played this course a ton. Usually it is very good, and a decent value. This time they had punched the greens, there was no warning from the pro shop, and the $60 green fee when the greens were in such poor shape was very disappointing. I brought this up to the clubhouse on the way out, and they didn’t seem to value my feedback.
Lincoln
Just a little slow at the start of round! Course looked great though
WAY TOO SLOW
Five hour rounds on a Thursday PM is ridiculous.
No course marshal or whatever they are called these days. The problem was 2 groups ahead of us and apparently they didn't offer to let people play through. Se basically waited on every shot for the entire round.
Tough and fun, sometimes gimmicky layout. Variable course conditions
This course can be easy in some holes, and rude on others from the tips. Take a 466 yard par 4, uphill about 75 feet tee to green, no way to cut the corner, into prevailing wind, multi-tier sloping green. Back the tees up 20 yards and call it a par 5. Some other holes are quite fun and traditionally challenging. Course condition was variable. Lots of crabgrass all over, patchy rough, wet and dry spots. Inconsistent bunkers. Lots of dead Bermuda. Greens rolled great.
Sssssssllllllooooowwwwwww
Title says it all, egregiously slow pace of play out here. It is a super senior retirement community, expect a five hour round perhaps longer. Do not play here if you have less than four players.
Nice course with minor issues
Overall the Orchard Course was in good shape. Due to the heatwave they have been overwatering so in the morning it can be a bit soggy in some places. But not a big deal. Some tee boxes are in rough shape with crab grass and some bunkers are pretty bare. But the greens are in great shape.
In bad shape
Fairways and rough in really bad shape. I've played this course multiple times over the past three years and this is the worst I've seen it. Crabgrass all over the place. Dead grass on tee boxes. Fortunately the greens were in decent shape and fairly quick.
Summer play winter rules
It's July and the tee boxes were sopping wet. Many of the fairways were squishy wet also.
Better than ever…
Played the Orchard course from the blue tees.. The course has matured so trees and wetlands are more in play. Greens have a lot of break, but roll true. Overall a quality course at a fair price.
