Franklin Canyon Golf Course

Great pace...lovely weather...friendly patrons and staff.

The best thing I can say, the greens were nice, not easy but in good condition. That being said, I will drive past this course to play where the entire course is a good experience. I’ve played this course more than any close by to my home in Hercules. Fairways were awful. Wont complain about no rakes (COVID-19), just wanted more value for my “local course”. I found better conditions and value just a little further out. Really was hoping for a good experience since it had been 6 months since I played here, it will probably be at least that long before I play here again.

Tucked away off of highway 4, a course full of unique challenges for all levels of play. Extra safe playing conditions - and the course is in great shape right now

Been a year since I’ve played here and the lack of watering and lack of fairway grass made it a $70 round of hitting off hard pan. Maybe I’ll check back in 5 or 10 years.

The course is close to my house. They know that the course is dry, but try and make the greens acceptable. The play there is usually very slow, four and half hours to five. They do a good job as far as getting the carts clean and ready in these difficult times.

Shame because I used to like the course. Now you are hitting off dirt unless you are directly in the middle of the Fairway.

Greens are in good shape.

Sandtraps are just brown dirt

Franklin is known for dry to dead fairways in the summer due to the tough water situation they’re in. But this year they have the course in pretty good shape for the water bill they have. It’s better than years past by far! But the cost of a round is pretty steep on weekends. I feel this course should be at least a little lower than other area courses who are in a better watering situation. But starting at 3pm through the week it’s $35. That will work. Overall this course is a lot better than years past but still behind the better conditions of other area courses. The staff is good too. Sometimes they stack up players and if you’re behind a foursome with two walkers who spend 10 mins looking for their ball, well there’s no marshal to help ya out. Overall Franklin has gotten a lot better starting this year.

I have never played a course so poorly maintained in my life. Every hole starts off with 150 yards of hardpan. If you miss the green and don’t land in a trap it’s hardpan. The fairways are absolute trash with large swaths of hardpan throughout, and it just got worse with each hole. This course is an absolute disgrace.

As a new golfer, I found this course to be good. I liked the pace of play even though I find myself to be at an avg speed, I have a friend who is a little slow. We didn't feel rushed and didn't have to wait long to tee off at the next hole. The course was under construction the day I was there and the staff was tending to the greens so I didn't have the best conditions when we played. I got my first birdie on this course which I was pumped for!

Course needs plenty of work. Fairways very dry. Greens in decant shape. No bargain for the rates.

Basically OK. Fairway is not so good otherwise I give 3.6 point.

My first round at Franklin Canyon. Staff was friendly. Pace of play was a bit slow but we managed to keep moving along with only a few delays.

Course was in relatively good shape, greens mostly in very good condition.

We'll visit again.
