Okay course with expected Covid rules.

Course was dry but playable. I normally hit my driver about 220-230 yards. Hole 15 is long, fairly straight, and downhill--my drive went 290 yards. There can be an advantage to dry conditions. Finished round in 3-1/2 hours...faster than usual.

Won’t let us repeat

We finished our tee time around 4pm and went back to proshop and ask the staff and we can pay for a repeat but he won’t let us. We ask why “ he said we suppose to go home after we finished because of covid 19 prorocol , thats why that they wont us go again”. So far this the only golf course in Bay Area wont let us repeat.

GOOD LAYOUT

First time played, cool layout. A lot of hard dirt “ pan “ all around, really have to make ball first contact , and the greens could be better. With that said, we had a great time, it was a challenge. You do get rewarded for good shots! Great service.. nice test.

(Slope is true.. play the whites unless your a 6)

Franklin canyon

Course conditions are spotty at best. Baer patches on many fairways, greens were slow, tee boxes need improvement.

Awful Staff, awful conditions

Not worth the price. Staff member named Randy was completely rude and disrespectful following a misunderstanding regarding tee time pairings and other employees. Absolutely would not recommend.

This course is dying through neglect.

First, they've raised the prices to take advantage of the virus. Other courses have their pre-virus pricing - not Franklin Canyon... no senior rates, twilight rates, etc. Other issues:

1. The grass is dead and/or dying through lack of watering. Greens have brown spots and fairways are brown and hard. Can't they spend a bit of their exorbitant green fees on watering the course?

2. Zero communications with members. I am a Canyon club member and there has been zero information emailed to members.

3. We paid for range balls in advance and that has been withdrawn. Almost $100 taken away!

4. Tee boxes are not maintained with hundreds of used tees littering everywhere.

I've enjoyed this course for 15 years and it has been run onto the ground. Don't waste your money, there are plenty of other courses in much better shape.

Fun new place to play

Enjoyed playing here. Lots of dead patches. Course could use a lot of water but I had a great day regardless. Met some great people who were fun to golf with and helpful. What more can I ask for.

Still Good

They are taking pretty good care of the course, some tee boxes are under repair but for the time of year green where it needs to be!

So Sad

It’s clear the economic shutdown has hurt this course. It’s not being watered and the fairways are dry and hard-pan. The Staff is doing the best they can with limited resources. They are not offering a Jr. rate nor nor honoring Youth on Course.

Better courses a short dive away for cheaper

I've played this course many times and I have never seen it this bad. Not sure if its COVID times or what but the fairways are pretty chewed up and seems like you're hitting off clay at times. Greens are decent though, and carts were cleaned and ready for us prior to arrival. IMO, Not worth it for the price. So many better courses not that far away for same price or cheaper.

Horrible conditions and pace of play!

Course is hard, dry and in bad shape. I’ve played twice in the past few weeks and my tee times have been delayed 10-30 minutes at least. Pace of play is horrible and there is no Marshal to regular. I played with my 7 year old and they do not offer a Junior rate. I paid full price for a minor just to play in horrible conditions. There were dead carts (no charge) scattered around the course. Save your money play somewhere else.

Good Game Today!

Our golf carts were ready for us when we got to the course 30 min before tee time. Pace of play was wonderful...no waiting for the group in front of us. Course conditions were fine. Finished playing in 3.5 hours!
