Franklin Canyon 2020
The course is in fairly good condition. The greens need some work. Unfortunately, it was very windy which made play somewhat difficult. Usually, the weather is better.
Warm Day in the Canyon!
The course was in good condition and the pace of play was great!
The staff was very friendly & did a fantastic job with signage for play during the pandemic. Our carts were clean & ready to go upon our arrival. Very impressive!
I hesitate to review Franklin Canyon because when people read this they're going to show up and make it harder to get tee times. They are doing the COVID-19 thing right. Procedures have been set up and you feel like they're a small price to pay. The layout has always been nice. The course is in good shape (especially the greens) but looks to be in danger of drying out as the weather gets warmer. Definitely walkable with a push cart (though you question your decision on 2 and 13). Still, highly recommended all the way around.
Needs work
I realize that what we are going thru is very trying. While the course was closed they could have worked on the tee boxes. Otherwise it was just ok.
Won’t be going back.
The course is usually slow, but the condition of the tee Bowes, the dead and downed trees and spotty fairways made us not want to go back anytime soon.
Franklin is in great condition
I have played this course several times over the last five years. This is the best I have ever seen the course. The fairways have grown back. The greens were firm and quick. The bunkers even had sand! I was pleasantly surprised with how the course played.
Fun round with interesting configuration
The fairways were quite soggy after a long rainstorm but the course was very playable. Best thing here is the interesting layout with several elevation changes and twists and turns to keep you challenged while still offering good scoring opportunities. Staff is friendly. Pace of play can be slow. Good value for the money so give it a try!
Reliable, pretty course
We play Franklin Canyon fairly often. It's a nice challenge, without any very difficult or easy holes. Pretty spot you'll want to be out in. Like other courses around here, it could use some rain and this week looks to provide it.
Franklin Canyon - Front 9
I always enjoy Franklin, this round was a late afternoon tee time where we were trying to beat the sunset. There isn't a 9 hole rate but the plan was to play the front 9.
Afternoon was pretty slow on the front, however when we arrived at the turn the foursome turned into a twosome and we replayed a few on the front 9 before the sun was too low and it started to get cold.
Overall good time as usual, it is dry they don't appear to do a lot of watering but greens were in good shape.
Great views and course easy to play.
Beautiful weather and some great views....found the course to be fun, a bit challenging on some holes and a great value. I would play here again!
Nice day for golf ⛳️
The Franklin Canyon golf course is worth it. Staff are friendly, greens-fee deals can be found, & course is in pretty good shape! The fairways are mostly dried out, so even if you miss-hit a shot, it rolls a mile! The layout features many challenging holes, with quite a few having to hit over barrancas to get to the green. Greens are in really good shape. Had a good time, & will go back ⛳️ !
Needs Work
This course could be great but needs a major turf overhaul. Clearly they are struggling to get the watering right. Flooding in some spots and just dead in others. I would avoid this course at the end of the season.
Course is in poor shape
Tee boxes are normally pretty beat up. Bunkers are always pretty poor. The fairways are usually pretty good but, today, they were horrible. A total cow pasture with bare spots all over. You have to move your ball off the dirt and onto a patch of grass. Greens are their saving grace.
Going Down Hill
I love Franklin Canyon. It may be the time of year but the course was in terrible shape. The greens had been "plugged" in the last week or so, but they were green. Slow and bumpy, but not terrible.
However, the fairways were terrible (dried out with very little green grass) and most ball washers were broken. Several water fountains did not work. Seems like the place is "going downhill".
