Franklin Canyon Golf Course

Played Franklin in 2002. Forgot about it. It is a very good neighborhood course. Try it

Very slow back nine, one group just didn't care how long it took. No Marshal to help out. Good course otherwise

Enjoyed the day and the course very much, course was in great condition, greens were healing up but putted pretty well.

5 1/2 hour round. Nothing else to say about that. Greens were extremely difficult to read and fast (which I loved). The fairways could use a little more grass, but the course really wasn't the issue for the low rating. The pace of play was extremely slow and I feel it was because a lot of LOW handicappers were out in full.

I suggest playing on a weekday and not a weekend.

Our tee time was 1:15. We didn't get on until 1:40ish and it was very backed up. We only got in 12 holes before it was dark. This time of year with a 1:15 tee time we should be able to play all 18.

The course is in solid condition as I remember it. Hasn't changed much since the change in operators.

They were running about 40 minutes late for us to tee off, but the guy in the pro shop was nice enough to offer my group some free range balls. It took 3 hours to finish the first 9 holes! I'm not sure why, but I'm sure the holiday and beautiful weather were contributing factors. The back 9 sped up and we finished in 2 hours as darkness descended.

This is my third time playing at this course and not once have I have been impressed by the staff on this course. This particular time was worst. We booked on GolfNow. The tee time was for 11:00 a.m. The counter staff was unprofessional and flat out told us they are running half hour late. This was told as if they were doing us a favor by delaying us half hour. The course was packed. The round that was suppose to last 4 hours lasted for over 6 hours. The course is beautiful, but it is not Pebble Beach for God's sake. I am never playing at this course again.

The course was good but the pace was a 6 hour round... Ridiculous... I left after ten holes

For a change of outings and with a group of friends, it is a great outing. After the round, the restaurant has great food for the hungry golfer.

Interesting and fairly challenging course. The only complaint would be the slow play. Our tee time was around 1:00(in winter), and it still took 4 1/2 hours. A nice course though winding through the hills with no adjacent housing.

I'm glad that Franklin has gotten more competitive with their rates relative to surrounding homes in the area. It is a good course w good challenges and not overwhelming in length. Wish the greens had more character similar to newer courses.

The course was in good condition. Tee boxes could use some work (grade of the tee boxes).

Franklin Canyon golf course is an excellent course for determining where you are in game. Except for the cold weather during the morning round, the conditions were fantastic for a round of golf. The food in the snack bar was great (burgers) and the staff was very friendly. My only issue is that I lost my Naval Postgraduate class ring several weeks ago after playing a round of golf, but the staff took my information and assured me, if found, I would be contacted. Very honest and friendly staff

greens ok.fairways need a lot of work.tee boxes uneven.my impression of franklin canyon was it gets real busy most of the time.we played on a thurs afternoon and the pace of play was a joke.it wasn't just the people in front of us,it was just the course was packed with golfers.i should have known due to the location of the course.weekends must be a nightmare at this couse .i also did not like several hole layouts,like #13/14.bad layout.the only thing we enjoyed was the bathrooms at this course,i would have given them 5 stars if they had been heated.so unless u can get a great deal on this course ,or have to stop off to use the br don't go out of your way for this one...

We had a time at 11.15. As sonn as my friend arrived he said lets go to delta view. So we paid 23$ at noon and we were finished by 3.30. Franklin canyon were charging 34$. We probably would have been on hole 13 there while the sun was setting. All courses like to make money, but jamming a bunch of people on the course is a drag.

The course was ok had a lot of debris from previous storms, pace of play was good though. Staff was great. Overall good experience.

Fits nicely in to the hills. Only disappointment was no Marshall to keep up pace of play. Great food.

You guys need to get the starters and marshals organized. It should not take 6 hours to play 18, even if it was on Veterans' Day. I saw a number of 2 and 3-somes out there, I even saw a 5-some tee off right at #1, right in front of a starter. Totally confusing and I'm sure it contributed to the slow down. That being said, still one of the best values in the Bay Area.

Great course and great weather led to a very enjoyable outing for both myself and out of state friend of mine.
Only thing that would have made this a better outing would have been my game/score!
Will definitely play many more times.
