Callippe Preserve Golf Course

Sadly this was another non completed round at Callippe. I have struggled to find a tee time when it wasn’t a 5+ hour round. I only play during the week so I couldn’t imaging what the weekend is like. For this round I booked a sub 6AM tee time thinking that would solve the problem. Unfortunately not. After 4.5 hours and only on the 12th hole I took my bag off the (shared) cart and walked back to the parking lot.

This is a fun and challenging layout with nice conditions at a fair price but until they do something about the pace of play, I won’t be back.

Haven’t played here for a while by choice. Play is often 5 hours for a weekday tee time. Course not in great condition. Green in the right areas but I guess that is true everywhere now. Greens nice but slower than I remember. At least bunkers had sand in them. Squirrels running all around course. Need marshals to drive around course to speed up play.

This is a fun layout with solid conditions all around but the pace of play is just way too slow. It’s always a 5 hr round mid week regardless of when you play. I booked the first tee time for Monday thinking that would solve the problem but nope, after 3:30 hours and only finishing 12 holes, I pulled my bag off the cart and walked back to the parking lot.

If you have a FULL day to kill then I would recommend this course. If not skip it like I will be from now on.

This course was incredible conditions absolutely immaculate. Please bring your iron Game because you need to place Barry shots to avoid hazards. Also be prepared to go into the sand traps there everywhere. This course in my opinion is not for the beginner however, you can still have fun playing it, but don’t expect a great score. Focus on having fun.

Thoughtful design of bunkers and fairways and challenging greens. Too many squirrels on the course though. Need more natural predators to control the ground squirrel population.

For the life of me, I do not understand why you set the tee times in 8 minute increments and then have no Marshall miles to be found. Literally every hole you have to wait for 2 groups and cannot get off the course in under 5 and a half hours. I’ve teed off several times now on weekdays anywhere between 11-2 and have never been able to avoid a 5 and a half hour round. I played on a Sunday two weeks ago and then round was 6 hours and 15 minutes…you guys have got to figure this out

As most know, this is a great course at a fair price. Course conditions were excellent with exception of the bunkers which were dirt and mud - they need some attention. Greens were in very good condition but not scary fast like they can be sometimes. Pace of play was OK - 4.5 hours, but it was 7:00am tee time so still relatively slow for that hour.

I’ve played Callippe multiple times, and the front nine is completely different from the back nine in terms of layout. Personally, I prefer the back nine. However, it’s always significantly slower in terms of pace of play. Overall, it’s a very good course in the area, and it was in great shape. Expect around 5 hours round in the afternoon.

Called the pro shop because I was in a twosome behind a foursome with one walker. (My twosome and I rode). We waiting on every tee box and even teed off late! Finally after waiting on every hole I called the pro shop on the tee box of hole 11. Asked about the pace of play and even told them our cart number. Still no Marshall or pace warning anywhere. There were 4 pre-teens working outside near the starters booth and a young man inside the pro shop. I went in and told him how awful today was. I wasn’t expecting a refund or special treatment, but the gentleman in the pro shop couldn’t have cared less. Overall, if you want a normal pace of play not clogged up by elderly people. Don’t come here.
