Callippe Preserve Golf Course

This is a wonderful course tucked back in the hills of Livermore/Pleasanton on an open space preserve. Homes are being built close by to some holes but many are unaffected even by errant shots. Well designed and a great challenge for even the best golfer on good days. I just wish it was closer to home, I’d play it more often.

All around enjoyable.

Front nine is like a resort course and back nine is like a championship course.

Callippe has consistently been one of the best tracks in the East Bay ever since it opened - its a great layout needing a variety of shots, not boring at all with plenty of elevation changes, dog left, dog right, and forced carries - and the conditions at Callippe are always excellent from tee to green. Staff has always been friendly and helpful.

Callippe is also very junior golf friendly. Youth on Course is only $5 here after 2pm! Most recent round here was a 4:00pm tee time and our foursome (me and our three junior golfers) were able to finish 15 holes by 6:45pm (we had to be home by 7:00 for dinner).

It has been a while since last time I played here. With Covid it is hard to find tee times and Price is high everywhere

Course was good as usual... enjoyed playing with my Boy.

The staff was very friendly. They have a nice selection of beers and the course was in really good condition.

The course was in really great shape. Greens ran true.

Caucasian pro shop clerk was rude and outright poor in public service department. He needs to go back to kindergarten to learn manners. Animals behave better shall I say more? My T time was at 4:06 or 4:07pm on Wednesday march 17th. Find out who he is and teach him how to respect patrons. We show up so he has a job. LITERALLY.

The course was in pretty good condition given the amount of play it receives. Greens were a bit uneven but still very good.

Course was in good condition. Place of play was a little slow, but it was twilight, so it was to be expected. Greens and fairways were in good shape. A few greens had disease. Sand traps could really use some sand. The pin placements holes from previous days could be smoothed out as they were pretty bumpy to putt over.

Two questionable comments in my opinion were heard at my check-in.

First was with the Pro Shop who said Golf Now rates bokked were with a Cart, but they would not issue a single rider cart for each person. I decided to walk, but the walking rate could not be honored because it was booked through Golf Now. Not that the $20 difference mattered, but it was the first this happened to me since using GolfNow since 2006.

Second was with the Starter. He informed us it was Cart Path Only. We asked about a disabled person flag, to hear his response. Starter replied "Our GM doesn't allow those". Well Callippe, all I can say is I hope you don't get a lawsuit filed against you because of discrimination against a disabled person.
