Great challenge with a lot of water. Bunkers need to be redone with sand.. I will be back to play again
Love Lakes
I live on Soule Park Golf course. Big qualifier (not my caliber) 86’d us from the usual, so 4 went to River Ridge (Victoria Lakes) course. A little breeze (ALWAYS in Ventura-Windtura afternoons). Otherwise gorgeous day. We usually walk, but rented rides for some modest vertical early and late in the 18. Hadn’t been there in ~5 years. One of us altogether new to the course. All agreed on fun, well-kept, challenging, visually appealing layout. Though-provoking/intellectual shot choices, especially around the big-water holes. Greens running true at good speed. Pace was just right. Will return soon (much preferred over original River Ridge track).
Good Course Layout
Liked the Course (Vineyard) Fairways seemed in Good Conditions for the Most Part.. Sand Traps however hard or sometimes Rocky.. liked the Lakes to Make It Nice Looking around the housing track.. almost Got My 1st Hole in One on the 18th Hole (Island Hole) .. says 169 yds (5 or 6 iron for me) to the Hole but Was Very Gusty Winds at Your Face.. Took Out a 5 Wood. Knew it Went Straight at the Pin.. Walked up and was like a shoe size (13 ) from the Hole..
Drying out and yellowing
This course is starting to show the lack of upkeep. Yellowing grass, bare spots in the rough (and a couple spots on the fairway). $50+ bucks for play isn't worth it. Got a hot deal, and usually that's the ONLY way to pay for this course.
Tough greens
Brought some family from Duarte. They had a great time.
Greens are frustrating
I had a 6' Up hill putt I missed it short and it rolled 14' back It's very open to the wind so you're gonna guess distances a lotI'm an 8 handicap I've shot 11 and 14 over Do extra 3 putts Let's just say if you're up for a challenge and you don't get frustrated it's a nice course I enjoy it or so I enjoy it the lakes course is beautiful beautiful I like vineyard as well.
Tough greens
The layout is good but dry and no winter overseed. Good way to keep prices down..
If you cant put you will not score well. Severe undulation on many greens. Not a lot of trouble to get into.
Breathtaking views
Had a great day on the course today. It was crazy windy but the views of the mountains and city were well worth the horrific weather. Even saw a pga tour pro Adam Scott from a distance at a photo shoot on the 15th or 16th hole…
Hidden treasure.
What a fantastic course. Fairways are beautiful and the greens were fast. There are 2 18 holes here. I look forward to playing the other 18 soon.
Vineyard Course
Poorly maintained fairways with mostly dirt. Bunkers lack enough sand. Staff, with the exception of the cafe workers, seem to not be very friendly
Down hill
In the past the course had been in much better condition, overall condition seems to have deteriorated. Still a nice layout, for the right price I will play it again.
