River Ridge Golf Club - The Victoria Lakes Course

Tee boxes and bunkers are in sad shape! Bunkers either have no sand, hard packed mud/dirt, or water. Tee boxes very rough.

Please ask the course management to put sand in the bunkers

I understand they are doing a lot of work and it’s costly..

and they are doing a great job on this work.

That being said we need sand in every bunker because most people just take the ball out of the bunkers

Played this course for the first time on a holiday, so it was really busy and the pace was slow. I don't blame that on the course. The group in front of us was slow, and the group behind us was impatient and hitting balls past my group, while we were waiting for the group in front of us. As for the course, we played lakes. Lots of water features as the name implies, lost more balls than normal into them taking a few ambitious shots. The course layout was pretty nice. There wasn't sand in some of the bunkers, some of the greens were slow while others were fast, I belive it was hole 14 that was a little odd to find, could have used a sign. Hole 15 i had a beautiful shot that was unfortunately stopped by a sea of divits just on the edge of the green. Lots of leaves and lots of little white flowers, would recommend a high vis ball. Overall it was a beautiful day and we had a good time, but course could use some maintenance.

Ok, so the courses are under new management as stated by others. These two courses were great tracks a decade ago.

Not sure what the rack rate is but hot deals are well worth the time. Both courses are good layouts and fun for the average golfer. Just remember what you pay to play in this sport is always what you get!

As usual a nice round at RR Victoria Lakes. The staff and the greens make it fun. A few rough spots on the fairways this time of year but well worth the money and great pace of play. Always love this course. Great fun!

I’m local there so it’s not fair. I like playing the course. I play it at least once a month.

Played on Monday seem like overbooked tee time 2pm but start my round at 2:20pm pace of play so slow green is very slow gloss is so tick better wait for couple month

Love playing at the Lakes. Greens and tee boxes in good shape. The rough was challenging with some over growth, easy to lose your ball.

My only complaint was the fairways. Who ever cuts the grass needs to have a grass catcher on the lawn mower. There was some much dead grass trimmings on the fairways that when you would get a clean shot down the fairways your ball won't roll normally, it would slow it down. I hit about 250 yrds on my drive, I would be lucky to get 175. It added an extra stroke or two my score card. Other than that, I love playing there.

/The course conditions were terrible /sod around the edges of the greens haven’t taken. The greens had terrible blotches sand in the bunkers hadn’t been turned and raked in probably six years.

Fairways were cut, and all the grass was left sitting in the fairways so you couldn’t get any run on your driving

I’m surprised that the course has gone to this terrible condition Wish I played somewhere else

I have played here before but this time, usually with my son and My grandson we left after 9 holes because it was extremely slow.

As I stated many times

If you call yourself a golf course and put bunkers on the course then it’s your responsibility to fill the bunkers with sand!

Or fill them in and plant grass.

100% unacceptable

Routine maintenance !

The aprons around the greens were completely torn up and GONE to bare dirt due to massive large scale replacements. We should be refunded part of our greens fees for this unplayable situation.

Nice to see the course fixing the greens.

Bunkers are terrible.

They should all be roped off and played as ground under repair.

It’s just unacceptable.

First time playing this course and snagged the first tee time, so tough to gauge pace of play but course layout was moderately challenging and fun to play. A couple greens fighting disease, but otherwise very well maintained with lovely views. Greens on the slower side with moderate undulation. Walkable, just a couple large hills and a couple with significant distance from greens to tee boxes. Will definitely play here again.

Please maintain the bunkers

They are desperately in need of sand.

The staff is great, but you can tell they have their hands tied. This course has such potential to be one of the best in Ventura. But unfortunately, either the Greenskeepers don’t know what they’re doing or they just don’t care. Every fringe might as well be a mud pit. There is no good place to hit the ball because every part of the course is in bad repair. We have decided to not play here ever again until we have confirmation that the courses in good running order which I don’t believe will be anytime soon. Instead of fixing the fringe properly , ensuring water drains correctly off of the green and cutting out the areas affected and putting new turf. They just throw seed on top of the area. Even someone in basic lawn care wouldn’t do something like this.
