About
Buenaventura Golf Course originally opened in 1932 as a nine-hole course but closed in 2004 for major renovations. The course's original designer, William Bell, was consulted for the redesign. It was transformed into a more challenging course, but the 1930s design features were carefully preserved. The parkland layout may seem short at just over 6,000 yards but like many of the courses from that era, length is not as important as strategy and course management. The strategically placed bunkers have classic shapes that blend seamlessly into the natural environment as though they were carved by the river. The bunkers combined with the fast, sloping greens make the golf course a shot-maker's paradise. One of Buenaventura's most memorable holes is the par-4 13th. It is one of Bell's original designs, an interesting risk-reward opportunity with water along the right.

Nice but slow
We usually have a good time at Buena but unfortunately we were behind a clown that thought he should be on the tour. He would take 5 minutes to measure the shot then hit it 30 feet. He had 3 groups backed up behind him and it was clear for two holes in front of him. A number to call the clubhouse in situations like this would be nice.
Nice shorter course
The course is in pretty good shape. The 8th green should be good shortly.
Very enjoyable
Had a great time with my dad here two weeks ago. Greens were actually quite nice. They did what they could with the two greens that were destroyed due to rains - so temporary greens are not good. But otherwise, great layout and very fun. I would absolutely come back. Great value too.
Exellent Greens with decent fairways
The course plays well. Two greens are temporary for quite some time now. Tee box 10 and part of the fairway is under repair. This has reduced the par 5 distance considerably. Not an ideal situation for such a good course.
There was no one monitoring the pace of play. Back nine was pretty slow due to some very slow groups taking their own sweet time.
Overall a good outing.
Nice shorter course
Pace was decent at less than 4 hours. Course is in pretty good shape even with the 2 temporary greens. We'll be back next week.
I love this course been playing it since I was a teenager. Can get pretty tough on those windy days. Greens are well kept.

Not for Visitors
No map at the tee or even available, slows the pace of the course. It’s just a guess on some tees on where the pin is. Price during reservation different from what I was charged.
Great day for February golf
Course was great, whether was great, pace of play was excellent!! Enough said!!

But need to fix the two temporary greens
Good Course
This was a fun and quick course to play. I played on a Monday morning and was able to play at my own pace since it was not crowded at all. A couple of the holes were confusing. I ended up playing to the wrong hole at one and didn’t realize it until I almost walked all the way to the green. Since it wasn’t crowded I had time to run back to the tee and hit to the right one. Other than that it was a fun course to play.
