This course is falling apart
The appealing layout, and typically great playing conditions for a municipal course, are long gone. I played the Vineyard course, the original. I was immediately appalled at the poor conditions of the fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers. Most of the greens were OK, but many were bumpy, and at least three were heavily damaged by the chronic invasive bird problem in the area. The fairways were generally in poor condition, lots of bare spots and poor lies, so you were punished for good drives. Some of the fairways with better coverage were plagued with unrepaired divots, and forget it if you strayed into the rough or just outside the fairways. It's obvious that the course is being dangerously neglected and it reminded me of the dilapidated conditions at Camarillo Springs golf course. Unless conditions are dramatically improved soon, this course is doomed to become a big pile of grassy weeds again in the Oxnard plain. Besides that, the staff and starters were friendly.
Course did not have me in the system but was able to get me out.
I booked a tee time 4 days prior to playing and received a confirmation email from Golfnow. When I showed up to the course they had no record of me at all. When I showed the email confirmation they placed me with a twosome that was already on hole 3. Was able to come back and play holes 1 and 2 after 18. Not sure how I received the confirmation but the course did not?
cancellation
I tried cancelling my tee time 24 hrs prior to my tee time. I had it book for two players and we were traveling up from Los Angeles
I have been a along time member and Vip member of golf now. I was tested positive for covid 19 on the Friday day before the tee time. I tried cancelling because I have was positive and the golf now app would not let me cancel because of that reason,
I fully did not expect the $35 green fee for a no show considering the fact that I have been a member of golf now for such a along time.

This place has gone wayyyyyy down hill, terrible conditions
Tee boxes all chewed up , fairways not kept well and bumpy greens. Overall, bad place to play if you’re an avid golfer
A good play
Had a good day. Wind came up a bit making things more challenging. Appreciate the staff and availability of tee time.
