River Ridge Golf Club - The Vineyard Course

Vineyard was a great course and an unbelievable deal, especially for a morning tee time

There’s not much rough to speak of at the moment, so if you do tend to over shot side to side etc, the ball will run away from you so it’s best to play to the fat of the greens. Overall the course is in decent shape, some of the tee grounds need work and they’ve thrown some sand on there, but needs to grow them back a bit more. The greens are in excellent shape mostly. They’re always on the softer side to make them receptive which is fine, because a day like today with the winds howling at 40mph it’s nice to know the ball won’t get away too far once you hit the green with enough descent angle. They are rolling fairly nicely. It’s just such a shame that people don’t fix divot marks.

I think the worst green on the Vineyard side is the 18th green, as it is surrounded by water so it’s always a bit moist, therefore it’s always a bit more bumpy than the others, and could use a bit more rolling to flatten it out.

Other than that the whole place is a good place to play and practice. Nice to have the practice putting greens accessible.

It was alright, id find it very tough to play without a cart. Some of the golf staff was a bit rude and snippy. I could have done without the attitude.

Always done Victoria Lakes but Vineyard was also great

I play river-ridge often. Love both tracks. Challenging but fair. Course is kept up unlike many courses these days. RR always has tee times available and the rate to play is very reasonable. This is a great Ventura County course!!

We had a very enjoyable round at River Ridge Victoria. The course has a good amount of variety and challenge for an average priced public facility. The greens were very good. We would definitely play again.

Course is in fair shape. Greens run smoothly but not excessively fast. Staff in the pro shop and at the first tee were very friendly and surprisingly enthusiastic for our 6:50am tee time. The Marshall (ambassador) not so much. When we arrived to hole 7 (a par 3) he was filling in some divots on the tee box. Without even a greeting he just expressed to my buddy and I that “I need you guys to pick up the pace”. Considering we were not playing slow, I responded and said “there is not much we can do about pace of play when the group behind us is constantly on our fairway due to their errant shots.” He asked whom I was referring to as he proceeded to fill divots with divot mix on the tee box that we were playing. I then said “the group that’s behind us; the ones who probably complained about pace of play.” Without another word, he drove off and constantly drove back around to check on us, although the group behind us was always a hole behind. I’m looking forward to a much better environment next time I play here.

Layout of the course is great, a course that welcomes all golfers, greens were a little bumpy, staff are great.

Good layout. Good value. Greens a little slow. No waiting.

1st time playing the Vineyard Course. Lots of fun!

Course is great.. evening price is awesome... but those winds will kick your butt in the evenings.. West winds are pretty harsh after 1:30/2 pm. Greens have also been kinda slow lately too.
