River Ridge Golf Club - The Vineyard Course

The most frustrating is that you web site does not say what course you paid for so 100% dissapoinment when i was told to play the course i did not like so some owes me a round of golf on the lakes course

Day before the round I booked threw golf now for two adults ($15 each + $4.98 convince fee), then called the pro shop and explained I would also be brining a Jr golfer and needed to add him to our group making it a threesome. While doing this with the pro shop I verified we would be playing the lakes course and that our tee time was 3:20pm. Seemed like everything was in order and we were good to go!

We showed up 30min before our tee time to check in. While checking in there was confusion about how many players we had but that was easily fixed. Paid and thought we were all set only to find out we had been put on the Vineyard Course not the Lakes as we had requested and verified the day before. When it was mentioned that I had called the day before and verified we were playing the lakes I was told no we were on the vineyard course and the lakes was to full for us to play now. From the pro shop we walked up to the starter to check in and were told our tee time was for 3:50 not 3:20. Fortunately the 3:20 group didn’t show so we went out at the correct time we had reserved three golf now.

Unfortunately I won’t be heading back to River Ridge using the golf now app. Seems that River Ridge reserves the right to change your tee time as well as the course you verified you were to play.

Simple put I’m disappointed that it was such a mess and hassle. With so many other courses in the surrounding area I’ll play there instead. The fairways are decent but not as well taken car of as you might expect, and most of the greens are in horrible condition. No one seems to be taking a second to fix a ball mark or smooth the sand after being in a trap.

The Lakes Course is the same although for $15 it’s worth dealing with an unmaintained course.

Should have none it was too good to be true. Found a tee time on GolfNow for about $60 for a foursome at 2:40. No mention ANYWHERE that there was no carts given out after 2:00 tee time. Called to find out about cart rate in advance and nobody answered. THEN, when I show up , they tell me they dont have PULL carts to rent either. So, LONG 18 carrying full bag. Wasn't happy. NEED to make clear situation on their website AND through GolfNow

Came here last month due to Covid. LA county was closed still and I could meet a buddy from Santa Barbara. Rates are lower than la municipal and the two courses are FAR better than any muni in la. Big Rec in Long beach may be an exception. However, the scenery, elevation change, design, proximity to the coast. and price make this spot an awesome destination for any golfer looking for a fun track with good pace, friendly staff, and solid layout. There’s a true island green for Hole 18 on the Vineyard course. I’ll be back again soon. Greens were a bit slow, my only qualm. Have fun!

Very nice course. Variety of holes in Vineyard front side. Healthy walk on front. Back walk easier

This is my third time playing Vineyard, first time walking. The greens and fairways were in perfect shape. It was an overcast day and they weren't too soft. If you choose to walk, please know it will be a challenge. You have a hill to ascend getting to the 3rd hole and it is a long haul between 13 and 14. If you're near Oxnard, this course is worth the visit.

Had a 1:20pm tee time. Round went really fast but I am sure that’s due to the COVID situation. There weren’t really all that many golfers when we teed off. I got to the course at 12:00pm and noticed the parking lot was practically full. I bet the mornings are busy.

Staff was really friendly. No meals or drinks are being served except for what’s on the tables (candy bars and chips) and what’s in the cooler (white claw, Gatorade, water).

New to the area and I will definitely be back here for more golf.

Walked the Vineyard course. Some holes where challenging to walk. back the 5 are like a private course. I will defiantly return.

Course needs major up keeping this course at one time was in maculate shape. Sad to see it go south so bad.

We walked all 18 holes on the Vineyard Course in 3.5 hours. Fairways were in good condition. Greens were long, shaggy and extremely slow. I started playing in 1995. Can't ever remember the greens looking or playing like they did today. That was the one aspect of our round that was disappointing.

Super slow bumpy greens. Breaks my heart because before American Golf took over this track was renowned for the awesome, smooth, faster greens.

And the surrounds are dry and hard. Tight lies and bumpy slow greens. Otherwise layout is mostly good.

Course is a great Layout. Needs a lot more maintenance on the greens and the fairways. Course should be in better shape after all the rain and lack of play due to covid 19. Not sure if it’s a money issue or what but this used to be a gem and most courses in the area are in much better shape.
