River Ridge Golf Club - The Vineyard Course

The staff should really mark which holes are cart path only instead of a blanket cart path only rule. Most of the holes were dry enough for a cart, (maybe 2-3 were wet) that just seems like taking the easy way out. If they want to do a blanket rule maybe lower the price of the cart

Sand Traps are horribly maintained and they are very behind in their mowing of all areas

Good course has some challenging holes , the layout is good ,good mix of long and short holes. But the ruff is to deep, hard to find your ball if you get in it..

Day after heavy rain, beautiful puffy clouds and clear views forever, cart path only, not crowded, 3 walkers on the Lakes fighting a 2-3 club cold wind... Fun! All were impressed by how well the course drained. Finished 18 in 4 hours with scarcely any mud on the wheels - and observed very little standing water on the course (besides the Lakes). Great venue! Glorious open views!

They punched the greens, no warning during booking. Fairways are mud. Conditions are about as bad as possible.

The course is great value for the LA area. The holes are interesting and a nice mix of harder and easier holes.

The bathrooms mid course are not equipped for women , it is a porta potty , not very convenient of you are on your period!

Secondly the 17 th hole is mislabeled as the 13 th hole and we were not informed about this , at least there should be a post or sticker mentioning this , we went around a bit confused until a group in front of us told us about the flub😏

Long course, fast greens. Beware of wind.

We started 25 minutes late and took 5 hours and 30 minutes to finish. It’s absolutely insane that we called the Pro shop to get a Marshall on the course to help with pace of play but nothing happened. He stood at the turn and acted like a Walmart greeter while the group two holes ahead of us fell behind 3 holes while creating a backup that included 5 total groups. One of the most disappointing rounds I’ve ever played. The course is in great condition but when you’re waiting 15 minutes every shot, what is the point in playing?

little rough in places and sand traps were terrible. greens were nice but around some greens like hitting of dirt

I went here knowing they don't take the best care of either course and was still surprised at how bad it was. I played this same course a few months ago and while it wasn't in great shape it was much better than it was now.

It looked like they painted the fairways and the fairways were rock hard. It was like dirt with a little layer of grass in most spots

Also the guy we had to check in with was just rude and unhelpful. He kept somewhat pausing a phone call, would tell me to talk, then would start talking on the phone again and make me repeat myself later. There's a younger guy that works the pro shop that is the only helpful person I've had there before. He's incredibly friendly and helpful. The older guy working was just rude, short, and anything but helpful. We'd ask questions and he'd not address them and say things in a condescending tone each time.I've been golfing most of my life and have played at this properly a lot so the questions I was asking were fairly reasonable as well

Just a bad experience. I'm cancelling my slots for 4 here this weekend because of the conditions but the front desk is another big factor pushing me to other areas

We love this course it is maintained very well and it's quite the challenge and the views are spectacular!

Everything is relative when reviewing River Ridge. It's never in as good condition as its neighbors across the river in Ventura, but it can be a bargain, and the layouts of both courses are interesting and challenging. Right now as of the new year, the greens are bumpy but pretty good and reasonably fast. The fairways are ok. They've done some reseeding of them over the last year and they are coming in pretty well. The sandtraps need the word sand removed as there is no sand in many of them and the recent rains have washed them out. The storm was particularly heavy in Oxnard and the skeleton maintenance staff at RR hasn't gotten around to fixing things yet. But all in all, with the cheap rate I paid, I was happy. Beautiful views from the top of the former landfill.

Delightful course layout with open vistas. As a visiting New Yorker in our group called it: "Paradise!"

Had a great time !!! courses in good condition ,greens are a little tough & played with a family, a grandmother her daughter and her son ..
