Foxtail Golf Club - North Course
About
Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park offers two championship courses, the North and the South, situated in the heart of wine country. The North Course originally opened in 1974 but underwent a major renovation that completely redesigned the layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The par-72 North is considerably longer and more difficult than the par-71 South. The North features multiple doglegs and strategically placed sand traps that will test even the most experienced players. To make the golf course a bit more approachable, water hazards don't play a prominent role, though they do appear on a few holes, and the forward tees are very player friendly. With 36 holes available, Foxtail G.C. is able to host tournaments and events while still having another 18 holes open to the public.

North is a great track.
I love playing the North course. Plenty of challenge from whatever tees fit your game. Course winds through homes with doglegs on most holes. It a very pleasant and easy walk once you make it across the street. For me, it's always worth the drive up from the east bay.
Pace of play killed the day a bit
Great course, definitely a good review but we hade 3 foursomes stack up on 10 and the pace of play was just ridiculous. For how good the course was I'm surprised the pace of play was unmanaged.
Plenty of rough at Foxtail South Course
Had a good day playing Foxtail South Course for the first time. Holes are forgiving for beginners like myself. The fairways are generally well tended, but there is a lot of rough on the sides. There's enough deep grass everywhere that it's easy to lose balls. Even where the grass has been cut, the grass clippings have been left on top of the mowed grass and provides excellent hiding places for balls. Another issue is that there are stinky puddles in the middle of several fairways (smelled like sewage). Despite these hazards, the course is fun and we did 18 holes in less than 4 hours.
Foxtail South 2021 May
The course is in better condition now than it was last year.
Good value course
The staffs of golf course were friendly.
The pace of play was exellent.
It was worth to play this course.
Great routing!
Hi,
Understand when greens are healing from semi annual punch-once up to speed would be fantastic.
This is a sleeper track and forces the player to execute golf shots! No slacking even from the blue tees.
Enjoyed the course.
Definitely need to review and verify all NCGA distance markers for accuracy.
Thank you,

Tail of the Fox Visually Stunning Everytime
Fox “tales.” Don’t believe anyone who says this course is in bad shape. Some tee boxes on par 3 can get rough but par four and five are spectacular. Let me repeat that—spectacular. North especially.
The North is healing from aeration a month ago? Lots of great grass ready to be primed and groomed.
South course looks like greens are already fine., as they are faster than the very true North Course which will always be among my favorite courses in the Bay Area. Both of them are fun.
The North remains a visual paradise, and one of the best tests of golf on the West Coast with its design and character for the purest of golfers, male or female.
Conditions
Tee boxes looked like fairway grass and fairway grass was too high. Lots of clovers, easy to loose ball in the first cut. Greens have a lot more break than appears. Good pace and beautiful weather. Loved the finishing hole.
Rough was rough
I love Foxtail North but the rough was unusually long in spots the was more penal than one would expect. I still had fun and the pace was great. Finished 18 in 3.5 hours.
