The Links at Summerly
About
The Links at Summerly borders Lake Elsinore, southern California's largest natural lake. The Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest are also the golf course's neighbors. Although it feels nicely secluded, the Links are conveniently just minutes from Temecula. The design tumbles across a rolling terrain that is accented with 3 miles of Scottish-style burns. The natural mounding was deftly incorporated throughout the golf course. The rugged landscape, reminiscent of courses in the British Isles, gives it the look and feel of a traditional links layout. It is a formidable test that features heavily undulated fairways and an abundance of kidney-shaped bunkers. Although there are some tricky holes, each one was designed to offer several different playing strategies. Thought and imagination are required, but you will also have to use every club in your back to navigate the twists and turns of the Links at Summerly.

They Screwed me
Showed up on Jan 3, 2023 after booking a tee time off of Golfnow and the course was closed ! No indication from anybody anywhere, no nothing that golf course was CLOSED. Golfnow is equally at fault for this because they sold the tee time.
Great deal
I play here regularly. This course is an excellent course to work on your game. It's fun, unique, and challenging. Tees, fairways, and rough have dormant grass. Some of the fairways need more grass, still very playable. The greens look nice and are rolling fast.
Course was brown
All the fairways were brown great roll on the ball. Greens were ok.
Remove from your list until this course makes a complete turnaround.
Course conditions/club house
Fairways have no grass. I get it’s winter but it’s all dirt. Greens are not good either. Need to spend more working on the course. The layout is fun but no fun when bunkers are filled with rocks. When we finish the front we try to get some snacks and the restaurant was closed. They did not have any snacks other than chips and even that the lady took almost 15 minutes to check us out. Only ordered 3 bags of chips and some beers. Leaves a lot to be desired.
Poor place has really gone downhill.
I played this course about a year and a half ago and the place was in great shape. Tough links course with lots of hazards and a lot of decision making. Unfortunately, the entire place is brown with dead grass and completely bald dirt spots, the greens are in bad shape and the experience just wasn't the same. It's still playable but I'd really only be willing to pay $25 max in its current condition. With that being said, I was told there was an issue with their water supply and they will be working on getting it back up to par. Summerly has a ton of potential, I hope they turn it around!
Rip off, save your time, gas and money
Their charging $52 for tee times. Hazards that are mapped out on course are non existent.. bunkers, water etc.
9/10 times if you find the fairway you still have to hit off dirt/dead grass.
Was golfing here in the summer, and was told the course was being watered and should be ready and looking like the pictures as advertised by December. Well December is pretty much over and the course continues to look like the courses that are reasonably charging $25-35
Considering the putrid conditions of the course.
Poor course conditions
The grass was pretty dead and there were lots of patches of dirt in the middle of the fairway. The course layout seems to be very nice if the conditions were better managed. Me personally I would not play here again because it was far away but the price was more reasonable than other courses
Fun track
I’m a member at this course. My family and I all enjoy playing here. This is a links style course with links style conditions. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for challenging play.
Excellent value
I play here 2-3 times weekly. This course is flat but tough to navigate if you aren't familiar. It will test your skills with every club. I always enjoy playing here and the challenges it presents. The grass is dormant, fairways are firm and fast. Fairways have some bare spots so you will have some tight lies. Greens are green and rolling fast. The links style course truly is 1 of a kind in Southern California.
Never again
So sad but this course looks like it used to be a golf course. What a mess. They tried to say the grass is dormant......I never hit off of any grass, just dirt. The greens are a mess too. Don't get lured but the reasonable price like we did. It's not worth it.
Nice layout but in very bad shape
I got a very low price on the tee times, and soon found out why. First, I will say the layout is really very good and this course has the potential to be an excellent representation of a British-style links course. The entire problem is in the maintenance of the course. I don’t mind the brown dormant grass in winter at all, but many areas of the fairways are simply missing grass. The worst part however, is the greens. Patches of weeds, disease, and just plain old bare areas make putting a frustrating experience. That was the deciding factor for me- I won’t be back unless the greens are repaired. I am a good enough player to deal with bare hard pan lies, but if the maintenance can’t keep the greens reasonably playable, it’s a waste of my time no matter the price. I sincerely hope they can turn this place around, but for now, I can’t recommend it.
Pretty good
Fun links course. Great staff and pace of play is usually fast. Greens are nice, fairways need work. Still very playable. One thing’s for sure, there’s always something better but there’s always something worse. I enjoy playing here a couple times a week.
Worst course I have played
There was not a single patch of grass in the fairway. The guys in front of me brought there own patches of grass to play off of because of the conditions of this course. You would hit a perfect shot and it would roll out of bounds because you were hitting off of dirt the entire time.
