The Links at Summerly
About
The Links at Summerly borders Lake Elsinore, southern California's largest natural lake. The Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest are also the golf course's neighbors. Although it feels nicely secluded, the Links are conveniently just minutes from Temecula. The design tumbles across a rolling terrain that is accented with 3 miles of Scottish-style burns. The natural mounding was deftly incorporated throughout the golf course. The rugged landscape, reminiscent of courses in the British Isles, gives it the look and feel of a traditional links layout. It is a formidable test that features heavily undulated fairways and an abundance of kidney-shaped bunkers. Although there are some tricky holes, each one was designed to offer several different playing strategies. Thought and imagination are required, but you will also have to use every club in your back to navigate the twists and turns of the Links at Summerly.

An honest review
This is the third time I’ve played here, though it’s been about two years since the last time. First I’ll tell you about the positives. Upon check in, right away the staff was very friendly and attentive. One thing I appreciated was that there was no enforcement of stupid mask wearing. No sign was posted and very few people were wearing them. I felt at ease right away. The facilities are modern and clean. The cart was clean and in good condition. I did notice that the GPS unit that was in the cart the last time I played was removed this time. No biggie since I have a Garmin on my wrist. The course is links style, thus very challenging. If you don’t hit the fairways you’re in trouble. I spent more time than I liked looking for balls. Now to the actual course. The fairways were playable but rough. The greens were in good condition, no bare spots, but a bit bumpy. Overall the course is worth playing if for nothing else the challenge of a links style course. Having a Hot Deal is a bonus.
challenging
This course is spread out. . It has a Rural feel. Lots of nature around you.Pristine mountains, clear skies. The course has lots of obstacles and is very challenging
Peaceful quiet
Clubhouse staff some of the best around.
Quiet golf course.
Fun to play, use every club in the bag.
Great Golf Course
Check in was easy and quick. Staff in pro shop was helpful and friendly. Cart were in good shape and clean. Tee time was on time. Pace was great, finished in about 3 1/2 hours. Weather was great and course was challenging. Green were all well kept. Some fairways had some bare spots but nothing terrible. Was a great day of golfing and the hot deal was great. Would definitely play here again.
A wasted Sunday
Course was in terrible condition. Pace of play was so slow I tapped out after the 11 hole and went home.
Not Getting Better
Sorry to see that this course is getting worse. The fairways have always been an issue, but now the greens are not in good condition. Five hour and twenty minute round on a Sunday. Could be such a fun course.
Great potential, little value
The layout could turn this into a great golf course. However, it drastically needs water, and the ball runs forever. Unseen hazards are unfairly penal, and the wind made it nearly unplayable.
Summerly
Good course layout; not in good shape - dirt fairways, divot greeens.
Great fun course
Very challenging it’s a link style course unlike any of the other golf courses around
Nice course
Challenging course with tight fairways. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely play again. 4” from a hole in 1 on hole #3.
Challenging
Fun course with natural/native landscape. Have to know the hazards and there many. Not sure if they have a yardage book but that would be a big help. Most holes require layup and solid strategy. Be ready if it is a windy day, the course is wide open and nothing to stop wind regardless of direction direction.
