This course was very good for the average golfer
It was great to get out of town and play this course. It was quiet, flowed well and fun to play.
Terrible tee boxes and fairways, thick greens
I like the course layout here. You need to hit it long off the tee, and it has a few challenging holes. But the conditions have always been at best fair. Especially the fairways. Doesn't matter if it's been raining or there is a dry spell, the fairways are least to be desired. As for the staff, very friendly and accommodating. I will be back to play again because I like the challenge it provides. Great practice facilities with grass tees, bunkers, putting and chipping areas.
Cart Paths terrible & direction of your next fairway difficult to find.
We had a foursome, and the appeal was the wide fairways, but it was very confusing finding where the next fairway was, & lack of grooming was apparent. The course was very disappointing.
Good price
This is a young course. It was fine for the price. A bit far for the overall experience. About 40 min drive. The weather and the drought played into the course conditions. Staff was friendly.
MLK golf day
Crowded but starter was accommodating and let us start on the back 9 to avoid a traffic jam. It was a great day - sun even came out!
good for the price
first time playing there I will be playing there again soon....fun course I recommend highly.
Need Some Course Knowledge
Hadn't played this course probably in 10 years. Remembered a couple of the holes but that didn't help. Hard to find yardage markers was the only problem, (going to get a GPS unit soon), as the course was in very good condition. Greens were excellent, sand traps could use a little more sand and the fairways were very good, just a few wet spots. Has a little bit of everything, water, sand traps, drop off areas and blind shots. Had two holes that we had to look at the scorecard to see where it went. A course that is worth playing for anyone. We picked a perfect day to play, New Years Day, no one out there and the weather was cold for the first few holes and the sun came out and we had the course to ourselves, almost. Like the course and will play it again.
poor fairway
fairway grass is really long like the rough only. cant really tell if there is any fairway for all 18 holes. greens are good
Below standard
Course is very flat an unimaginative. Fast course to play and players are very willing to let you play through.
Very muddy
Greens are in good condition, fairways are muddy and they lack grass. I have played this course over 50 times, due to resent rain, this is the worst condition I have ever seen at this course.
Great greens
Greens are in great shape, fairways are fair to poor as are the tee boxes. Pace of play was very good, a sub-four hour round.
Layout a bit frantic, holes very close together.
Overall not a bad day of golf, especially for
the wintertime.
Would return, just not too often.
Fun layout, not maintained
This course could be fun but the maintenance was terrible. No difference between the rough and the fairway and the grass was really patchy. The greens were decent although a little slow.
PLAYED LONG
Due to cool overcast weather and still very wet from a storm a couple of weeks ago, the course played very long for drives and second shots on par 5's.
Bad Holiday Round
My sons and I went to play a round and it was a very slow process the whole day. Groups were behind on the first box which set the tone for the whole day we were going for 18 but after 2.50 hours for the front nine we decided not to endure it any longer. The management gave me a rain check so that was very nice of them. I will go back to play again but not on the holiday schedule they have. I do enjoy this course it plays to my style of game. It is well kept for most part a starter would have helped on this day to keep things going every hole there were 2 to 3 foursomes.
Fun course to play...
Fun to play and usually not real busy... Greens are much better than I have seen in the past... Tee Boxes need Improvement... New sand was being put in the traps, very nice to hit out of now...
Country Stroll
You're out in the sticks, near Feather River, off Hwy 99, just past the 99/70 split to Marysville. If you like valley golf, then this is your place.
Peaceful, serene, open, not too hard, not too soft. 69/126 from blues and measuring 6,005 yards. GPS didn't square with course yardage markers (i.e., plays longer). Good architecture, but they got rid all the lakes but one, that I can remember.
Didn't lose a single ball all day, even though struggling to get off the tee. Two pars going out and one par and one birdie coming in. Nothing else to brag about except several "should have made" putts that didn't go in for bogey or better. :-)
Yes. Tee boxes shaggy, but level. Greens slow. Course wet, but no standing water.
Closer to Sacramento than Plumas Lake (real nice course too).
Play it. You sure to like it. Good value and pace of play.
Enjoy!2
good course
Could do with a haircut but excellent all considered
Ragged
Overall, the course is maintained adequately. The tees badly need mowing and the greens are the slowest I have played since Nixon was President. Still it is fun to play and not a bad deal. Good for an occasional visit.
Hot and smokey
I've played here since it opened but not for a couple of years. The course is the best condition I've seen as far as being green however the rough is often mowed orchard grass that even Rory couldn't get his club through. The greens are beautiful but very soft and slooow. Feet leave depressions that makes the putting inconsistent. I'd guess they are either recovering from being plugged and haven't been cut to putting level or they are being left long to combat the heat. All of the water hazards on the back 9 are dry or are now grass depressions.
Keep your mouth closed!
Arrived 7:00 to find low ground fog. Everything is wet, too wet. Grass thick and wet; hard to use the driving range as ball w/sink into turf. Course is wide open, many of the brush piles have been cleaned up. Good walking layout. Greens especially spongy and punched when I was there; very slow. I was a single in a cart and allowed to play thru three groups that were slow. Bugs, flies, hovering bees everywhere. If you stood still you were covered in a cloud of bugs. Don't breathe thru mouth unless you like taste of bugs. Worst was moving in cart and hitting a swarm and being pelted by them. Hard to line up putt as you are looking thru bugs right in your face. Whew!!
