Orchard Gem
This 6000 yard course set among the orchards in a rural community was fun to play. I played with a couple who travels a considerable distance because they say the course is never really crowded. The course does show some minor effects from the prolonged drought and early spring. I encountered some patchy areas around the several of the greens and occasionally on the fairway. The greens were predominately small and the breaks extremely subtle. I found myself not playing enough break on several of the greens. Many of the fairways has doglegs; more than I have seen at any other courses. The course is a good test of your short game. I will play it again!
love this course
great course for beginners and intermediate player
Was not happy playing here
Very dry not kept up
When you have a 7 a 6 and a 6 playing in front of you that is just not acceptable
Nice course but poorly marked
I have played the course a few times and think it is a nice layout for the most part. My main complained is the almost total lack of yardage markers. If you don't know course well, bring a yardage scope or GPS.
overall course
overall this course was in very good condition, we will definitely play here again
No drought here
A couple dried up ponds but over all very green.
Great value.
Friendly staff...very considerate.
Only complaints:
....VERY SLOW greens.
....hardly any yardage markers.
Good cond
Terrible staff I mean the worse attitude out of any course.. Think the owner breaths down there neck..
Good course
Crab grass on tee and fairways make it difficult. Few people playing made for a great time. Restaurant on site serves good assortment of food.
River oaks
Got in on a hot deal rate. They let me out early, by myself. Great pace of play. Two groups let me through, real friendly people. Had to hit off a couple dry bare spots, but other than that the course was in good shape for a drought. The greens were a little slow but manageable. Had a great time.
Goodbye, my friend......
This course is suffering. I have always enjoyed a leisurely drive to this course, 30 miles from my home. The facilities and clubhouse have always been a little worn around the edges, likely due to location, reduced play and economic conditions. The course conditions and facilities have diminished and this business could be the next course closing in our area. My Saturday round began at 11:00AM, and I played 16 holes, playing through only one group, until I caught up to multiple groups, and started playing 4 balls instead of 2. It's just so sad to be a part of the decline.
A nice change ...........
wide fairways, not so fast greens, quite a few different golf holes not normally seen. I loved it.......a pretty course.....
nice place.
I was on vacation and looking for something to kill time. This course was recommended by a friend. Good condition even with the drought. I zipped through in two and a half hours.
Great time
Very friendly staff and good value for money in the afternoon. Course fairways are somewhat suffering from the drought but very playable and the greens were in excellent shape. Tee boxes could use some mowing. Lots of water stations around the course. Staff was terrific and friendly. I will go back!
Decent Round of golf
I used to play this course all the time when it first opened. I thought I'd take my friend from out of town to play here again. We checked in 30 min before our tee time and waited 45 to be called and decided to just start since they weren't grouping people together. The course was in great shape. The fairways were in awesome shape and the greens were nice and soft (surprising for how bad the drought is). The grass on the tee boxes were a little long which made it hard to put the tee in the ground.
The food was a bit over priced (breakfast: $5 for a pastry and a 12oz can of soda, lunch: $10 for hot dog, chips and a drink). The hot dog was deep fried and then grilled - not sure I've had a deep fried hot dog before- but it the taste was fine.
Our round with 3 players took 4 1/2 hours too play.
Excellent value
This course is well maintained and offered a fair test, with fast greens, large oaks and discreet ponds. The pace of play was outstanding with no crowding on a Saturday and a modest price. The staff was friendly and welcoming working from a no frill clubhouse.
Nice course
Well I love to play in this course because you can use you best shots on this long and straight shots tks
an excellant course, play here at least twice a month
We played the course on the 15th and the pace was terrible way too slow too many golfers. Played it again on the 16th and it was great totally enjoyed it.
River Oaks
Course was in very good shape. Some times course was hard to follow. Was very slow due to be placed between 2 tournament It would be helpful if this could be noted to help make choice of tee times. overall it was an enjoyable experience.
River Oaks
Greens were in great shape. Fairways and tee boxes were showing neglect because of the drought but still quite playable. this course would normally have numerous water hazards but because of the drought they are empty. Oak trees are not a problem on almost all holes. without water hazards the course is wide open!
