Great to see a lot of grounds maintenance workers today improving the fairways and greens. My favorite local place to play.

We had to call the front office numerous times to get a Marshall to come out because of a specific group of 3 who had absolutely no etiquette, were very rude and playing extremely slow. There were several holes in which we had 2-3 groups waiting to tee off in front of us and behind us due to that group taking nearly 20 minutes on a hole. On the very first hole a worker was mowing the green and forced us to stand there for several minutes and wait to hit our shots on to the green, and after we did, he preceded to mow all around our balls as we approached. And then he Impatiently sat just off the green with his motor running, virtually rushing us out of there, while we attempted to putt. Then on hole three they were spraying poison around the trees just off the green, which is where I happened to hit my ball.. and he continued to spray the area and my ball, we were downwind, so the poison was blowing into and burning my eyes as we drove up to play my ball, so that had really upset me. Also, our tee time was delayed as someone else was allowed to come up in our time slot and Just teed off when we were designated to.

On a positive note, the greens and course are much improved over the past few months, and the woman who worked in the pro shop was friendly and helpful and has always been a pleasure! However, almost all of the highschool/college aged kids who work there have been quite rude and have bad attitudes, and this is not the first time is has been an issue at the course. Another issue, was we had gotten a bucket of range balls, and while the course was still to be open for several hours, as was the range, they closed the range so they could go collect balls without warning.. so we were completely stiffed on our bucket, where the younger workers were also rude. Aside from playing a decent round, this was a very unsatisfactory experience and I’ve never had this many problems in a single day at any course.

The entire course is in poor shape. We heard that the greens had a fungus that had been eradicated. They are not fully recovered. Putting was hit and hope. Fairwars have bare spots. Bunkers were decent. In a few weeks, this might be worht playing again, not any time soon.

Fix the course! Probably would’ve shot a little less, but when you have to navigate around HUGE patches on the green, it’s a little hard. Oh, and maybe tell the bartender to get off her phone and take an order once in a while.

Fairways looking good, still some bare spots but better lies then last month...Greens, are just starting to fill in as weather cools at night....looking at grass on greens you can see it starting to spread out, three weeks and they may even be putt-able.....still worth the price with Chapman Rewards Card.

They don’t keep up bunkers at all. Very slow pace of play.

Go somewhere else. This place should not be charging more than 35 dollars a round. Course is in terrible condition. Who on earth is giving this place a 5 star review?

Greens are being cured from Nematodes They are in terrible condition Patchwork and dirt spots. They have a long way to go to fix them. Unless the price is next to nothing, go somewhere else.

Terrible greens....balls bounce and hop due to all the holes and dirt patches, STAY AWAY!

I use to play this course back in the day and it was always well maintained and in great shape, Today i played a round here and how things changed there. The course was in rough shape some greens you could not put on due to patches and dry spots. Staff was great and friendly they even offered a discount. Sorry to say but until this course returns to its old ways i will not be playing there anymore.

I reached out to the course mgmt back in June regarding my displeasure at greens conditions AND the overall value of the course given current conditions.

I received the following reply from the course director:

"Over the last couple weeks our team has been focused on the condition of greens at Yucaipa Valley and have swiftly addressed the issue. We have discovered our greens were plagued by a very rare west coast organism called Nematodes..."

It went on in some detail regarding how that had affected the grounds and what they are doing about the problem, though never did address my overall value question.

As I stated, my initial email was in June. As of my next visit in late July, no change. According to other reviews as recent as 9/4/2020 course conditions are still the same.

This used to be one of my favorite courses for the money in the area. Back when there was only a trailer clubhouse the course was immaculate. It seems their bar and grill clubhouse have become much more important than the actual golf course that surrounds them. Just one man's humble opinion.

Payed the course Saturday afternoon. The staff was very friendly but the course was in horrible condition. I’ve played this course several times over the years and have never seen such an overall lack of course maintenance

The fairways were ok and the layout is nice but the greens were "HORRIBLE" . Some of the greens were like thick carpet and all the others had patches and holes all over.

The course layout is nice, fairly straightforward. The greens are long and very slow. Hole 2 or 3 the hole and green are just all of a sudden in the fairway. Staff doesn’t wear masks.

No warning prior to booking. Greens are absolutely horrible making it near impossible to 1 putt. Most greens have huge areas with no grass at all, some had chunks cut out. And one hole had a large puddle only 3 feet from the pin making. Will not be playing here again.
