About
Nestled in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains, Yucaipa Valley Golf Club enjoys a stunning backdrop on most of its holes. The beautifully maintained course is certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Yucaipa Valley offers the unique combination of being both challenging and affordable, for this reason it's a local favorite. The layout is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It's not terribly formidable but the greens can be challenging because of the slope and speed. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides and the occasional water hazard comes into play. The 13th is the signature hole at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club. This tricky par 3 has a severely undulating green bordered by out-of-bounds on the right and water on the left.

Golfer Reviews
Six hour round in the making!
We quit after 9 holes. Close to 3 hours at that point having to wait every hole. On the par 5 seventh hole there were 4 groups. Never saw a Marshall all round. Very poor situation that should be corrected. Very unenjoyable to say the least.
An Average Course for an Average Price
The best part of this course is that it is relatively inexpensive. But you generally get what you pay for. The greens were recently punched, so they were slow and bumpy. The fairways are below average with large dirt areas and thin grass on most holes - especially on the back 9. The sand traps are not really playable - they look like hard dirt with no sand. Impossible to hit a "standard" sand shot from any of the greenside bunkers - fortunately I wasn't in any of the traps! The owners are in the process of "repairing the bunkers" on the course. Not sure exactly what this means, but I hope it means putting sand in the sand traps! On the positive side, the staff is very friendly, and the food and drinks are reasonably priced.
It's always great playing a round with your son
Had a great time but wasn't told that we would be teamed with other players until we got to the tee box.
Going down hill fast!!
So sad to see this course where it is today, please stop the bleeding for this golf course, before it ends up like Calimesa!!
Challenging
The course was well kept, the traps have opportunity. Overall the course was a challenge.
A nice way to spend the afternoon
I am a Yucaipa resident and have been for 20 plus years. This was my first time to play Yucaipa golf course. I definitely will play it again. Nice and open course, good greens.
Soft greens
The greens were soft enough to allow a high pitch to stay on the green, instead of bouncing off, but not too soft. I was able to get a higher than my ave GIR because of this!
Groupings
Was 4th group out, it went 3some, 2some, 4some and then my group as a 3some and then a 2some after us. The starter paired a single with us, while letting two 2somes out, so we had a 2some on our butts the whole entire round. Why would you pair a single with a 3some and not with the 2 groups of 2 somes? At the very least you should have forced the 2somes to play together.
Great layout
Too bad they've spent money on the new building and not on the course . Lots of bare spots all over the fairways and greens.
Maybe after they repair the lake ,conditions will get better.
Great round of golf
This is one of the nicest courses ( for the money) in the East Valley. Friendly staff and well groomed tees and greens. We had a blast!
Over water
Every hole at the water sprinklers on and of course with just saturated with water.
I guess they forgot we're still in the drought.
Carts In At 7:30
My family and i played at 5:30 pm on a Saturday. It was 43 bucks for 3 of us. We had a great time. Staff was friendly and the course was nice but at 7:30, we were on the 10th hole and the cart guy came and told us we could keep playing but we would have to give up our carts. There was still at least 40 minutes of daylight left. It did not state this when I purchased the tee time and they did not say anything about this when I checked in. No biggie but I feel this should be posted somewhere. Still had a nice time.
Great location; nice clubhouse; lousy service.
The location is excellent and the clubhouse is very nice. However, I am fed up with the lousy an unprofessional service. While everyone who works there is very polite, the service is inconsistent at best.
I feel like this golf course is trying to make it as difficult as possible for a working person to play there. It's bad enough that the driving range isn't lit, but the clubhouse seems to close whenever the kids working there feel like leaving. Today I called ahead and was told that the clubhouse would "probably stay open until 7:00 or 7:30. I got off work early, rushed home, changed, and arrived at the golf course at 6:53. The clubhouse was already locked with not a soul to be seen anywhere. With almost an hour until sunset, even without lights there would have been plenty of time to hit a couple buckets of balls. While I was at the door peering in, two more people walked up and were disappointed and surprised that the clubhouse was already closed.
This was only my most recent negative experience. On Sunday I played 18 holes of golf right in the middle of the afternoon on a hot day and didn't see a drink cart until we were on the 17th hole. The previous Friday I played 9 holes and then sat down in the clubhouse restaurant for an early dinner around 5:30. I sat there for about 10 minutes, and while I was clearly seen by the kids working there no-one came over to my table. Finally I got up and approached the counter, where I was told that the kitchen had already closed because things had been slow.
This place needs to get its act together in terms of service. Inconsistent hours, closing the restaurant and the clubhouse way too early and at random times, and poor cart service are three of the negative things I experienced within a period of just four days.
Pace of Play
This was my second time playing this course this month. The first time it took almost 5 1/2 hours, I thought that was just a bad day. I went and played yesterday, same thing. I saw groups of 5 and 6 playing. There was no Marshall, but there was the girl asking if we wanted to buy anything. I'll give this course a rest for a while
