About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Almost perfect
Would have been 5 stars but 1 star was deducted for minimal bathroom facilities. There are 2 in total at opposite ends of the course not always accessible without considerable inconvenience. Sometimes nature calls at the most inconvenient moment so having at least one more in a more centralized location even if it was a porta toilet would solve this problem. other than that zero complaints

For the amount of players on this course, it was well taken care of.
Good Value
Good value for the money. Good length for different skill ability. Fairways a bit drier, as expected in this time of year.
Great greens
The fairways were typical FL public with extra short and weeds but definitely clear difference between fairway and rough. Layout was shorter but challenging. Overall worth the price I paid.
Great Course
Course was well maintained, challenging to hold the greens, and the service in pro shop was outstanding. Great day all around! Will definitely be back real soon.
Great course, better than most in the area.
Fantastic experience. Great course with excellent greens. Been to other local courses where conditions are terrible. Greens are great and fairways are trimmed. Whoever is in charge of the course, is doing a fantastic job! Pace of play was great, finished in 3 1/2 hours. Will definitely be back here next gold outing.
Still fighting with those unattainable greens - the ones that sent back into the fairway at about a 60 degree angle !
My ball - which had landed on the Green - maybe 5” from the edge - rolled back 60 feet to the oak tree on #16! Frustrating!!!
Hoping rain and some grass seed will help to remedy the situation. I like this course but it keeps getting worse!

Hidden Gem
I’ve recently gotten back into golf and have been playing a lot of local courses in Central Florida and the Mount Dora Golf Club course is one of my favorite finds. While the holes are relatively straight and wide open, there are multiple changes in elevation, which is unusual for the metro Orlando area. The greens are small and were in great shape, but be careful of the roll off in several of them. The fairways were good and the tee boxes were underwhelming. I will definitely be bringing friends back here to play.
