Mount Dora Golf Club
About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Great outing
First time to play here. Will put it on the regular rotation.
Great views and Great people
This place is just all around natural Beauty . Golf is a tough sport but please do not forget to take a deep breath and just look around . The back to back par 5’s are beautiful . Holes 5 and 6 . My absolute favorite hole is 12 she’s a beauty . Hole 15 gives me the tingles as well. Just a great course to be in touch with Nature . Great people here for sure ! Everyone treats you like Family . Shout out to MY guy Rick who always makes us feel at home . Ohhhh and this place allows you to walk at a great rate !!! Come one !! Okay now I’m done lol
Fun course
Overall Mt Dora was in good shape. Understandably the greens were extremely slow but think it was due to their effort to prevent fungus or damage.
One of the friendliest courses in Florida .
Every time I play this course I have met the nicest people you could ever play with, pair that with the nicest staff you could ever meet, and you will have a great experience with lots of Fun !!! . Small greens will make you really concentrate when hitting into them , and they put quite nicely. Tree lined fairways will make you want to hit the ball straight, and that’s a good thing isn’t it ?? So all in all this is a great day out, give it a try you won’t be disappointed. I am a scratch golfer and have played many courses in better condition but must say not found them to be more FUN . As for value for money this place is second to none !! WELL DONE MOUNT DORA see you soon
Roger from the UK
Ok for the price
Firstly....if you are visiting from somewhere else...the course has little signage to guide you there off 441n.
A gem that needs polishing!
This is a great course!! It needs a lot of maintenance and some revision / especially the greens which are so crowned as to be at times unplayable. In addition, there needs to be rangers in order to control pace of play. 5 hours is not a reasonable play schedule!! Two open holes is not acceptable. I hope that there will be some improvement.
Horrible
The worse fairways I ever played on. We were the 2nd tee time of the day. When we got to 10 They put a league or tournament in front of us. They were playing as a 5 some and playing best ball. We had to wait 15 minutes for every shot. It would have been 3 hours for 9 holes. We left after the 12th hole..
Mt Dora Club
Old style muni course. Greens were in good shape, but bunkers and fairways need some attention. Some very long uphill par fives and a few very sloping fairways that require shot placement. Plays tough in the wind.
