About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Terrible golf course
Golf course is terrible, staff are worse. Refused to give a rain check because a teetime was booked through “GolfNow”, and although the course gets their money they won’t lift a finger to try and help.
Best affordable course in Orlando
Most every course in orlando is near $100 for 2 and as a broke student it makes it rare to go and enjoy playing golf. While it was only $20 cheaper than other courses, this course was playing like the more expensive ones. It doesn’t have a range which makes warming up interesting, but overall this course was fantastic. Not a lot of people so it wasn’t bunched up. Had an older man who didn’t like that a 2some and 4some were holding him up and so he decided he would invite himself into my 2some. That being my only gripe, the course can not obviously control what people say or do. 1000% going to come back and play when I can.
Still love this place!
I’ve played many times - but the first thing I noticed is - wow this course is grassy!! Having been in a drought in our area - I was amazed at the amount of green!!
Unfortunately - several t-boxes are terrible! # 6 has been moved - it’s not level - and awful to hit from for an Already tough par 5. There are many others that need big work! I’m hoping I’ll see some improvement when I return in the fall.
But I still love this place!!

Better conditions than a lot of courses around here.
The course conditions were not great but better than a lot of courses in this area. The course layout was fun, but it would help to know the course better.

Course was very scenic and loved the challenging greeens.
Wonderful Florida Course
The friendliness of the staff makes for a great start.. the course is in very good shape and the greens roll true.. some of the pin placements made for some tricky putts.. overall the course is very well maintained and I would recommend playing a round of golf at this great old Florida course.
Nice layout old course like it caters to veterans challenging course fairway’s decent greens ok needs work
