Mount Dora Golf Club
About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Great Course
Mount Dora continues to challenge your skills, from uphill and downhill shots to the short game,, this course is a tester. The course condition is very good.
We are glad you enjoyed your round, and hope to see you again soon!
Great Value
Staff was super friendly
Course was in very good shape
Greens were small and fast
Unique tract and bunkers
Lots of elevation making it longer play than the yardage on many holes
Not overly difficult or easy
Enjoyable

Last minute hike in the mountains
Should you play Mt. Dora Golf Club?
Was enjoying a nice round of golf with my 3 Bros when all of a sudden we were interrupted with a dead cart on hole 16. Called the office 3-5 times in the span of 30min and had to enjoy a nice hike with my clubs in the Mt. Dora mountains. Needless to say “Jose” from the pro shop didn’t come to save the day for my friend and I. His helper must have missed us walking around with our bags for the last two holes (of course a tourney happening behind us). Not the friendliest bunch there so to answer the question- No. I don’t recommend this even to my worst enemies.
Awellsw89,
I apologize for the inconvenience for the last couple holes. I believe you may have been mistaken though, and called the Country Club of Mount Dora's pro shop. The same thing has happened in the past. We do not have an employee named "Jose". Our staff is very responsive to the needs of our golfers, and it seems very out of character for them to leave somebody out on the course like that.
I would love to hear more about your experience, so please reach out to us at (352) 383-3954 at your convenience and ask for General Manager Luke.
Even better
The course is in great shape, played here a few times this summer but I must say the fall has done great for the course…. It’s always a pleasure playing this course, I like playing courses with great history….
Not what you want on a Saturday morning….
I was quite disappointed with how the course was run on a Saturday morning. Not only was the staff sending groups off 1 and 10. Which meant that when our 10 am tee time rolled around and we were starting on #1. Groups were turning from 18 which caused a huge clog on 1. The course was filled with 2-balls, 3-balls, and singles. No one was paired together which caused even more of a back up. The icing on the cake was the 2-ball in front of us was playing their second 18 of the morning. I’m sure they did not have a tee time for their second 18 holes. So we then we’re waiting on every hole for a very slow 2-ball who was exhausted from their first 18 holes. Overall, this was a bad experience. The pro shop attendant was not very helpful and a little rude to be honest. My only positive take a way was about half the holes were kind of a cool layout. I won’t be returning.
Great value
While other courses charge $40 to $50 dollars this course is still in the $30 range. It’s a short layout but plays long. The greens were very good and if you like them fast they were.. I was able to use all my clubs.
We are glad you enjoyed your round, and hope to see you again soon!
