About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Always a good time
We played during the week which is unusual for us. The front nine was slow but not too bad. The back nine we had to ourselves. The course is well maintained and the greens are smooth and fast. We try to make it out to MDGC at least once every two months, it never disappoints.
Golf as it used to be
Had a fantastic day at Mount Dora GC. Real friendly welcome when checking in and paired with two local guys who were great company. This is an old style course built in the 1940's so not far from greens to tees and no houses alongside fairways - just trees!! Course is in really good condition with excellent fairways and smooth fast greens. Loved the elevation changes especially hole 12 which is a real beauty. Great welcome in the bar afterwards too - looking forward to a return visit and would certainly recommend to anyone.

Good value for price when pricing is getting a little pricey. Nice to see a discount for veterans. Enjoyable!
As a course that was built by GI's returning from WWII in 1945, we always strive to honor those who have served. That is why we run our Military, Law Enforcement, and First Responder discounts 365 days a year!

Greens were in great shape. Fairways were average $56 for me and my kid with cart. Would play it again for a little cheaper.
A lot of fun

Old Mount Dora
The holes are close together and you see a lot of players with their carts all around. Only one water hazard and all the holes are pretty straight. The course was in fair to average condition and the pace was off a bit with lots of players. Typical for a Sunday. Overall it was a pleasant outing for 18 holes of golf.

Good time golf course.
Fun hole layout. Tees, fairways and greens all nice. Nice people great conditions good price what else you need. The only recommendation I would make is more directional signage.

Old School course
Short, established tract near downtown. Some nice elevation changes you don’t get at many courses in the area. Really small greens as you find with many older courses. Tee to green in pretty good shape. Good value. FYI, there’s no range to hit warm up balls.

Need to improve course green condition and asphalt around clubhouse. Like the new chipping area in the front..
