Frisco Lakes Golf Club
About
Frisco Lakes Golf Club is a part of the Del Webb Frisco Lakes Community, just north of Dallas. The front nine of the course is interwoven with the community itself while the back nine sprawls across open countryside. The five sets of tees range from just over 5,000 yards to just over 7,000 yards, allowing the golf course to be played as a leisurely round or a formidable test. The challenging, well maintained greens are the course's most memorable feature. Golfers should be prepared for a back-to-back peninsula green and island green on the seventh and eighth holes. The 14th is another tough water hole that runs alongside Lake Lewisville. Water is not the only hazard at Frisco Lakes Golf Club though, there are also plenty of strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Frisco Lakes
Always great, course, pace and staff...
Golfnow price outstanding, thanks...
Great windter conditions
Greens are awesome. Course is great for this time of year and a good walk.
Great course
Beautiful course green in good shape fast
Par 3 island was the key feature
Nice golf
Wide fairways, green are well taken care of, bermuda greens rolled well, nice challenge with water and sand, go play it..
Poor conditions, 5.5hr round, temp tee boxes, never saw beverage cart
Terribly run facility in every way. Far cry from where it started.
Fantastic Course in quiet neighborhood
I really enjoyed playing this course. The pace of play was really good, and the greens, fairways and tee boxes were all very well maintained. Layout was impressive, with some very attractive and challenging holes. Some bunkers needed attention but overall very good. Don't get caught in the rough, very nasty! Some improvements: Refreshments - only saw cart girl once in 4 hours, and that was on the first hole. Grill is a little sparse as well. Majority of profits come from concessions per Golf Digest, make that a priority. They actually ran out of bottled water! And a few holes were missing water jugs. Also, no sand on the cart to start the round. Otherwise, will definitely play here again!
Frisco lakes fizzle
Excited to be out on a Frisco course. Reviews lead me to this gem but its still developing. Tee time was 1:39pm and i was grouped with 2 others so we were off as a 3 some. Course was nestled in a very nice community with money and construction going on at various holes definitely detracting from my overall score. Pace was a bit slow for my taste but im not going to complain too much. Fairways were in good shape and greens were very fast. Did i say very fast...yes like a 12 or above. So needless to say you better bring your best to the putting green. Coming from Florida i started to wonder if they had rolled them recently. Numerous challenging holes on this course with water hazards and brush areas. I was told by staff they just purchased new gas powered carts w/out GPS . The cart had some issues disposing of the fumes...several times i noticed it. Maybe it was just our cart. Lastly, i never saw a beverage cart once. How sad for a Friday afternoon round. So, i will give this course aome time before i return.
Worth Paying a Few Extra Dollars
If you are debating between two courses, and you are considering the other one because it is slightly cheaper, I wouldn't let that keep you from playing this course. Nestled within a beautiful community, this course has had serious work put into it. For me it was quite the drive up there, but I must say it was worth it. One of the better courses in the DFW area. I could go on and on saying how good each aspect of the course was, but it was all great, so I don't see a need to comment on each individual thing. Definitely worth it!
Excellent Experience Once Again
Every time I play this course it is in fantastic shape and never any hold up on a tee. Marshall's are very good about monitoring play; my group has been able to move ahead of other groups multiple times (we play fast). Only downfall is the last two times I've played, there was no beer cart.
Great course in Frisco
Fun course with some challenging holes. Went on a Wednesday, mid-day. Finished just under 4 hours. One of the better public courses in North Dallas.
Excellent conditions
Always in great shape, the greens were awesome, everything was great. Pace of play was good.
A day at the Lakes
Nice start but ran into several retiree groups playing very slow. Great course
conditions and incredible greens for north Texas. Water readily available at tee boxes but no cart girl on a Friday!
Major Improvements
I actually played 2 Rounds at Frisco Lakes this week after not having played there in probably 6 months. The course is in great shape especially considering the intense heat we have been having. I have always liked playing Frisco Lakes and was happy to see it so well maintained.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to cut the rough a small amount. As this course is played by a lot of seniors, it would improve the pace of play as currently a ball in the rough at times can only be found by stepping on it. Since the clientele is not PGA players, the rough should be at a length that makes your next shot more difficult and NOT a penalty because you can't find the ball. Please don't interpret this as a criticism as it is only directly related to the pace of play which is slower than average.
Good Value
For the price this course is a good value. I'd play it again.
First Time at Frisco Lakes
Boy this was a great coarse to play. The tee boxes and fairways were immaculate. The greens were being aerated but I could tell there were in good condition. When the greens fill in it will be an awesome play. Looking forward to playing there again!
there should be a course alert
The tee boxes and fairways were good. The greens were being worked on and
full of sand. The sand traps themselves were rock hard.I normally brag and say
this is one of the best courses to play but not in this condition.I would
wait a while before I played this course.
Not right now apparently.
This is one of my favorite courses in the dfw area but last couple rounds leave much to be desired. Back nine has routinely been unavailable for play due to construction and renovation. Front nine greens all aerated in last couple days so it was tough. Discounted rates are still far too high to be playing this course in its current condition. I have faith Frisco Lakes will be great again, but its going to need some tlc and its going to be quite sometime I think before it gets there.
Full Price?
Got a good deal on Golf Now. The overall course conditions where pretty good. Played on a hot afternoon...no cart person till the 10th hole....really!! Had to cut it short when a storm front blew in....I would recommend, but only on a hot deal as the course does not warrant full price!
