Wildhawk Golf Club
About
WildHawk Golf Club is a challenging championship layout that is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The verdant landscape is dotted with scenic water features, including a cascading waterfall. Water is naturally a prominent presence but the unique shape and positioning of the bunkers also makes the course stand out from other public tracks. The golf course boasts some of the area's best greens as well. The layout has a diverse mix of challenging holes and player friendly elements such as the wide-open fairways on the longer par 4s and par 5s, which makes the golf course accommodating for a range of skill levels. It still requires a fair amount of accuracy though since it can get tight in some spots. WildHawk Golf Club can also be more difficult depending on the wind

Excellent pace of play
So glad to see this course open. Had a great time playing. Only have a couple of minor complaints, golf carts were clean except for cup holders, area around druving range very messy with many old leaves covering mats could have been blow off.

Great Golf Course
Durning this stay-at-home Corona Virus Wild Hawk G&CC was a breath of fresh air. Course was in great shape . We had a perfect sunshiny day.
Nicely maintained course, fun layout.
First time playing this course. It’s tucked back in the “burbs” of Elk Grove a few miles from the freeway. Tee boxes, greens and fairways were well manicured, although greens were a bit slower than I’m use to. Layout was challenging from the blue tees, especially if you don’t know where the hazards are located. A few holes really require some knowledge of the layout to stay out of trouble but most holes you can see where to aim. Yardage poles in the fairway are helpful but start at 200 yards out. Greens have enough slope that it pays to know which side of the flag to hit to. I would play it again. We zoomed through the front 9 in under 2 hrs but hit a back up on the 10th. Second 9 took a little over 2.5 hrs.
Played today. Course in good condition.
I drove 50 miles to play this course!
The course is in good condition, although the bunkers are suffering from lack of TLC due to the COVID19 restrictions In force.
I will be back!!

The course is in good shape withthe proper precautions in place with no trap rakes and modified golf cups Carts were clean and sanitized and all staff are behind plexiglass in the clubhouse. Challenging layout from the blue tees with solid greens
Glad they are back from covid-19 break.
They were able to reopen because they took necessary covid-19 precautions, and they are doing a good job of it. Walkhalk personnel did a good job of enforcing the new rules. I observed more cars in the parking lot than I have ever seen before, and pace of play was a little slow, but it did not seem crowded on the course.
Great Day
When we arrived they were very serious about our issues of the coronavirus. It impressed me as we all need to be preciouses.
Course of play was good. Greens in excellent shape.
Overall had a great day.
Good for Wildhawk
Thanks to the drought, Wildhawk is in pretty good shape. The fairways and greens were clear and free of mud. Some mud along the cart paths due to overwatering.
Winter golf conditions
I really enjoy playing Wildhawk because it sets up well for my eyes. It is pretty much what you see is what you get. This time of year I expect the course to be wet, soft and muddy. The fairways get little roll out and there was a fair amount that was almost unplayable. They did have areas marked off to avoid and #11 was cart path only. The greens rolled well and had fair, but inconsistent speed.
The staff in the bar area and pro shop are always helpful and make up for some of the shortcomings of the course.
This course is a swamp
It hasn't rained in over a week and the course is saturated. Muddy, soggy. Not worth the time or money.
Yes, the course was still wet in places after the five inches of rain the course received in December. The foggy days didn't help either, but we had very few cart restrictions and the fairways were mowed. Hope to see you at WildHawk again in better weather.
