Wildhawk Golf Club
About
WildHawk Golf Club is a challenging championship layout that is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The verdant landscape is dotted with scenic water features, including a cascading waterfall. Water is naturally a prominent presence but the unique shape and positioning of the bunkers also makes the course stand out from other public tracks. The golf course boasts some of the area's best greens as well. The layout has a diverse mix of challenging holes and player friendly elements such as the wide-open fairways on the longer par 4s and par 5s, which makes the golf course accommodating for a range of skill levels. It still requires a fair amount of accuracy though since it can get tight in some spots. WildHawk Golf Club can also be more difficult depending on the wind

Really like this place
I would recommend this track to all who enjoy open links style play. I will be back for sure.
nice day, nice round
Greens were sanded but that didn't take away from a good time. Course in nice shape after rains.
Pace of play
Great place to play and a must if in the Sacramento area. The only problem was a gender neutral tourney went off just before we did. It was a 6 hour round. The kind that you wait 15 minutes on every tee box. So make sure there isnt a tourney in front of you if you get the chance to at there.
Very friendly staff
The staff sets the table for a pretty nice course and day of golf. I really enjoyed my day here and will gladly recommend it to anyone.
Good course, good value
The course was in good shape (although does anyone repair ball marks anymore?)
Surprisingly Good Course!
My only issue is that you’ll get definite “non golfers” here. Be ready for gym shorts and tennia shoe players. That’s fine if pace of play is OK. - but is was THE slowest round of my life. Started at 1:20 and already had 3 groups waiting on numbers 2 tee. Need a marshal with a tactful but firm hand. Play faster or pick up to make up the time. At 6pm we stopped for darkness on number 15.
But very nice conditions for sure.
First time intermediate player
This was an upgrade from where I most often play, and I was impressed. Clean well cared for course with friendly staff. The pace of play was as I would like.
Fun track with interesting variety of holes
This is an enjoyable course, nicely priced, nice staff. Only caveats: When we have a few days of rain, it gets very mushy and doesn't drain well -- plus, the marshalls don't do well in keeping some of the players from ripping up areas with carts by going places they should not go.
On this day, I was part of a twosome stuck behind a 5-some that played from the black/tips -- but should not have been. They were terribly slow. It's hard to stand on a tee or fairway and watch 20 putts. If courses insist on letting fivesomes on, they should NOT be allowed to play blacks.
Looong day
This course has a reputation for being nearly unplayable in the winter for lack of drainage but was in surprisingly good condition. Fairways and greens were in good shape and nicely mowed. Tee's are still not very level but that's Wildhawk. This course used to have clocks to keep pace of play that seemed to do a good job but they are gone or broken and without a Marshall in sight to encourage a couple of slow groups it became a 5 hour + day. What a shame for a nice course on a great day.
Confidence builder
I have played this course less than a half dozen times, and each time I play it gets better. I like cause it has enough challenge but allows meet to build confidence in my game.
On this day the course was pretty wet due to a few days of rain prior to playing. The green were still rolling pretty true and the speed was good too.
If you are looking for a course that is challenging but fair, this is your course. The staff (pro shop to club house) is very friendly.
Fair Weather Course
The course doesn't drain very good so there was mud everywhere. The fairways were over soaked and the greens were in fairly bad condition. It's a good course when the conditions are dry.
yes, all the fog we've had lately has kept the course from drying from the rain. The greens are stimping at 9.9 though.
