Wildhawk Golf Club
About
WildHawk Golf Club is a challenging championship layout that is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The verdant landscape is dotted with scenic water features, including a cascading waterfall. Water is naturally a prominent presence but the unique shape and positioning of the bunkers also makes the course stand out from other public tracks. The golf course boasts some of the area's best greens as well. The layout has a diverse mix of challenging holes and player friendly elements such as the wide-open fairways on the longer par 4s and par 5s, which makes the golf course accommodating for a range of skill levels. It still requires a fair amount of accuracy though since it can get tight in some spots. WildHawk Golf Club can also be more difficult depending on the wind

Beautiful !! Photo submitted by LonneyJay14 on 12/05/2013
nice track
not too difficult but fun layout, greens in good shape staff is great.
review
course in good shape ... greens a little bumpy. pace of play was abysmal, partially due to strong winds, but mainly it was just slow (5 hours). bunkers are mostly awful.
I would be happy to play Wildhawk again; the driving range and ball price was excellent.
I would be happy to play Wildhawk again; the driving range and ball price were excellent.
Greens were slow and soft
Don't know when they punched greens but they were very soft and slow. Fairway bunkers were under construction.
Also very hard to get the food and drink on the course. Cart person never stopped to ask. Bad for business
Nice course
This is a beautiful course with really nice greens. Layout is challenging but welcoming and moderately challenging. The only bad thing was that a group of "5" was in front of us the entire front nine, which slowed things down, but we still finished in 4.75 hours. Marshall was very friendly and accommodating and we did get around the group on hole #10, otherwise my review might be different. Definitely worth playing this course!
Wild Hawk Way
Good course for the price. Overall conditions were good, greens rolled fairly true and the layout of the course provides ample variety from hole to hole. Only downfall to the day was a 5 hour round. Not sure why, the course was not that busy.
Painfully Slow
This is the kind of golf course you step onto and say "Man, this is nice!!!" Then the waiting begins...... 5 hrs. + : ( pace of play is excruciatingly painful..... Love the course hate the wait......
Good condition, slow play
The greens were recently aerated, so they were predictably slow. The pace of play was extremely slow. The mixture of carts vs walkers is always a bit tricky. However; there was a 5-some in front of us that were walking and obviously unaware of keeping a decent pace.
Fun layout!
Always fun to play Wildhawk. Phil was friendly and accommodating as always. Greens had just been punched, so..... Carl
Coupon
Coupon or not, they should have told us the course had sanded greens, plus some players were cutting in front of us
aerated
Had to play front 9 cart path only, twice! Golf Now did not inform me of this.
3 fairways had standing water 10-12 inches deep.
Lost 2 balls in fairway deep waters....
The Hawk
So, this course is actually one of the closer courses to my home, yet I've only played here three times. This last time, found the course in it's best conditions ever. The course has a nice layout that makes your round enjoyable even though it may be an easy course for some (You probably are safe with one sleeve of balls here). I find, the only reason I don't play here more often, is that there are so many courses within an hour of Sacramento,CA, that your likely to find a better bargain on GolfNow. However, I am always happy playing this course. I didn't try the food, so I can't rate that. The drink cart made it out to my group once, three holes in, and we never saw her again (But, it was a 2:15 start). Take my opinion with a grain of salt, because I have been spoiled by GolfNow, and I like to play cheap. This day was $28 at 2:20, so it was just great, but if I would've taken the 2:07 time, I wouldv'e been looking at $37, which is the most I would pay to play here...unless they offered free beer and sandwiches.
wildhawk is in great condition
course is in great condition , everything freshly mowed and ready for the season . The new system of clocks on the tee boxes doesn't really help pace of play , just reminds you of how slow this course always plays .
Slow,slow,slow
Wildhawk is a short course that should play fast. Second time in two weeks that it has taken almost 5 hours to play. We waited 25 minutes on the par 3 seventh hole, at one point there were FIVE groups waiting on this hole alone. Absurd. No marshall's to be found and I don't think they care anyway. Also they allow fivesomes right in the middle of prime tee times which didn't help. In fairness, after the first 5 hour round, they gave us 2 nine hole rain checks (actually we were a 3 some but got 2 rain checks, 1 for 15.50 and 1 for 12.00, don't ask me why). Point is these guys are all about revenue and seem to care less about player satisfaction.
Good course for your dollar
I found the fairways in very good shape as well as the greens. This course is challenging but very fair I'm looking forward to playing it again.
Great condition
Course is n great condition bunkers hard pan but other than that it was wonderful
Greens below average.
The greens were furry, bumpy, slow, and inconsistent. Several bunkers were dirt/mud with very minimal sand. The front nine took a little less than 2 hours to play, but the back nine took 2 1/2 hours. Groups were backed up on several holes and no marshals were around. I have played Wildhawk many times and the pace of play is the worst in the Sacramento area!!
Best Round to Date !
Wildhawk is the best course I have played in the Sacramento area. After getting into golf two years ago, I shot my best round yesterday: 89. I can hardly wait for a return engagement.
Pleasantly surprised
A shorter course with plenty of "punch".
Target golf recommended for sure.
