Wildhawk Golf Club
About
WildHawk Golf Club is a challenging championship layout that is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The verdant landscape is dotted with scenic water features, including a cascading waterfall. Water is naturally a prominent presence but the unique shape and positioning of the bunkers also makes the course stand out from other public tracks. The golf course boasts some of the area's best greens as well. The layout has a diverse mix of challenging holes and player friendly elements such as the wide-open fairways on the longer par 4s and par 5s, which makes the golf course accommodating for a range of skill levels. It still requires a fair amount of accuracy though since it can get tight in some spots. WildHawk Golf Club can also be more difficult depending on the wind

Beautiful !! Photo submitted by LonneyJay14 on 12/05/2013
nice
Temp in the 90's .. Only saw the beer girl once in 18 holes.. In fact she was working in the snack bar when we stopped for drinks after nine holes.
Great Course for the money!
Great course, good staff, good layout.I would recommend this course to anyone.
Great Course
Wide open course but still fun to play. Played with a very skilled golfer who plays the course frequently but still challenges him. Teed off at 4:45 but still got 18 in...beautiful course to play at night.
Very slow play
I expect slower play on the weekend but this was crazy. We had a 8:30 tee time, paid for our round at 8:00 we were not told they were running behind. We hit a bucket of balls got all warmed up, went to the starter and found that there were still 4 groups ahead of us. The starter told us that they have been squeezing in extra groups all morning so they were " a little behind". Teed off at 9:00 waited at each tee box all day, over 5 hour round.
Good course, however needs better markers
The course is fun and easy to play with lots of open fairway. However they need to put in better next tee markers. We often would have to park the cart and use the map to figure out where the next tee is. There was no sign on the tee box to tell us if we found the right one, just a post on the cart path that pointed in the general direction.
Course was in good shape, fairly long rough , slowish greens, ok at a substantial discount, not worth >25 w/ cart
Gold is a challenge for average drives, blues are doable , but nothing to great with the greens, good shape but not a great speed at all.
Could have used a Marshal
I have played at Wildhawk at least 20 times and our time playing on Sunday afternoon was not good. For some reason there was no Marshal on this day.
well kept.
This course has been kept up and better. Whithin the last couple years they have even greened up some areas along the left side OBs that were dry and unplayable making these holes a little more forgiving for players that are not always down the middle. Greens are fast and clean. Keep it up Folks, and this will be my new home course
Fun course. In great condition.
I would highly recommend this course for its value, quality, and fast pace of play.
Great value
The course was in pretty good condition. Price ($44 w/cart) was a good value in my opinion. Greens were in great condition. Fairways in decent conditions. Wish they had better signs to direct you towards certain holes, but other than that great value.
Great community course however most bunkers need sand , dirt /rocks no so much fun.
Kim checked us in is very friendly and helpful. New carts ( no gps) nice along with practice range
Nicely maintained.
The course is in great shape. The greens were running true and very smooth.
Course was in great shape.
Play was slow. There was no Marshal on the course. At hole #7 there were 4 playing groups backed up.
Beautiful course but deceptively challenging.
Im new to golf and I found the course challenging but lots of fun. Overall the course and staff were great based on my limited golfing experience. I will definetly hit this course many more times!
Fooore right!
Great Links Style Course with Charm
The pro Tony and his staff were great. Got to course early and they offered to let us tee off early if we wanted to since the tee was open. Decided to try the grill before teeing off and the food was good, beer was cold and at a fair price. Pace of play was really good, carts were washed and clean, grass driving range with really good golf balls that look brand new, fairways awesome, greens rolled really nice, water holes scenic and rough was grown to make it challenging. The course has a lot of charm with each hole being unique and even down to each hole having its own nickname of the score card.
Great Value
I discovered Wildhawk last year, and love it! Friendly Staff, Course was in good condition. There are a lot variable holes with some water and rolling hills. It's one of my favorite golf courses to play in Sacramento. Would recommend to anyone!
Easy Course, well maintained except for bunkers
Have pklayed Wildhawk numerous times, played on a Sunday afternoon, 12:12 tee time. Nobody out there since it was Cinco de Mayo. Foursome played in 3:50.
Course in good shape from post spring aerification, greens smooth, moderate speed.
Only negative to the course is the Bunker Renovation Project, which seems like it has been going on for years. Most bunkers are dirt, no problem for a fairway bunker shot but you don't want to be in a greenside bunker that hasn't been redone.
This course is a hidden gem.
Although this course plays easily, there are some challenging holes. The greens role nicely and the course is well maintained.
Decent track
Staff was incredibly friendly. Was given free range balls and didn't get charged for having my sister ride along. Pace of play was fine for a busy afternoon on a nice day. Course wasn't too tough from blues, 6200. Tips are 6700 and may have been more challenging. Greens still not fully recovered from aeration. They were a little long and slightly bumpy in spots. But, they still rolled quickly and pretty true. This was my first time playing the course and I liked it.
