Wildhawk Golf Club
About
WildHawk Golf Club is a challenging championship layout that is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The verdant landscape is dotted with scenic water features, including a cascading waterfall. Water is naturally a prominent presence but the unique shape and positioning of the bunkers also makes the course stand out from other public tracks. The golf course boasts some of the area's best greens as well. The layout has a diverse mix of challenging holes and player friendly elements such as the wide-open fairways on the longer par 4s and par 5s, which makes the golf course accommodating for a range of skill levels. It still requires a fair amount of accuracy though since it can get tight in some spots. WildHawk Golf Club can also be more difficult depending on the wind

This course can be challenging
My bust. I didn't read your schedule correctly. I booked Monday thinking I had booked for later in the morning. The super friendly staff showed me where I had actually booked for Tuesday. They switched me to Monday and provided my with an hour later than asked for tee time. I consider this course to be moderately difficult, but the 25 MPH crosswind for most holes made it a bit of a challenge. The fairways and greens were well maintained and the greens fairly fast. The rough was brutal and tall enough to make finding your ball difficult at times. The 18th hole is fun, but does require three accurate shots to the green. Always a great course to play.
This course is very nice
The tee times need to be set few minutes farther apart because uts all bunched together allowing frustration but the course itself is nice and greens are firm.
Nice public course
Really enjoy this course. It is well taken care of. It will be great once the bunkers are are all sand. About half of them are just clay right now. Lot of fun to play.
good deal good course
This course was very nice and challenging. Would play again anytime.
A Fun Course
This is a fun course to play.
Easy to keep it in play, but can bite you if your not careful. Tee to green in great shape! Fairway bunkers need work though. Greens still recovering from spring punching and rolled very slow.
Marshalls were friendly and evident and were actually concerned with pace of play.
Links type layout
Greens had been airated probably 2 weeks ago so if you are reading this after say April 20th then this place should be in absolute fabulous condition! If you are a single digit handicap then play the Golds- the added yardage lets the course play with some more teeth. Enjoy!
Awesome value...
Probably my favorite course to play in the area. it has the best value compared to nearby courses. Beautiful and wide-open course but tends to play a little short. A few drivable par 4s and par 5s are easily reachable in 2 shots. Par 3s are difficult but the par 5's make up for it.
The club house is nice but the food has more to be desired and the best bet is to bring your own food.
The negative of the course is the pace of play. There is plenty of people out there dressed like they just got done at the gym and never have played a round in their life. They need to do more about speeding up the pace of play. Having to sit and wait to hit your shot for 15 minutes should not be acceptable.
the course as a variaty of levels of challenge
the staff is always very good and helpful the pratice facilities are always in good working order. the only problem is not with staff or course but the golf cart seats need replacement not tape.
Course in great shape, fun and challenging holes and greens.
The experience and staff we excellent, even the cafeteria and clubhouse were awesome. I look forward to playing there again. Great bang for the buck!!!!
I live in the Wildhawk Community and really love this course for its location and interesting setup. It's a good course.
As a person that loves golf, it is important to play a variety of courses and that would definitely include having Wildhawk in the mix. My love for the game of golf began at Wildhawk in 2003, when Ron Kuwata, the Golf Pro, took the time to teach me the basics. It is with much appreciation that I get to play one of the greatest, most challenging games at a course that leaves some room for fun and the individual competitive spirit to be inspired. Did I say I love golf? Louis M.
Comfortable Course
Enjoyed our round at Wildhawk. Staff was very friendly. Easy check-in. Started our round on time. Play was a little slow, finishing in just over 4 1/2 hours. Conditions were very good. Only disappointment was that the greens were very slow. Our group was used to playing on fast greens, so it was tough to "overswing" in order to get the ball to the hole. Plan to return as we enjoy the layout.
This is a very playable course.
Wildhawk is in good shape but paly is very slow. The marshall needs to earn his money out there. This course has it all, water, bunkers, hills, and lots of areas for misses. It has many elevation changes for a Sacramento course. The carts are beat up. It is fun to play.
Course is in good shape.
Course has dried out and is in good shape. The pace was a bit slow but we finished in a little over 4 hours. Very friendly staff both in the pro shop and restaurant.
Pace of play needs to be improved
Pretty good course but needs faster play. Too many slow players
Fairways and Greens in good condition. Bunkers are being renovated on hole 17.
Surprising fast round for a Sunday Noon tee time(4 hrs 15 min)
nice course for the money
played this past Sunday in a Superbowl shotgun start. I think that had a lot to do with 5+ hour round. the course was in OK condition, i've seen it in better condition. this course is close to home so we play there often.
Course is in Great Condition
While the pace of play was not very good the course was in spectacular condition for this time of year. The greens were very receptive but were rolling at around 12 on the stimpmeter. For me those are the perfect conditions for a fun round of gold. The staff was very friendly and a special shout out to Tasha, the beverage cart attendant, for being so nice and accommodating.
Not what I have come to expect
I've played Wildhawk many times....but this is the first time I have played with the course in this condition. As always, the greens were in great shape (the main reason I enjoy playing here)....but the course in general was soggy. I'd be in the middle of the fairway to hit an approach and it was squishy and overly wet...on every fairway. Not sure if the drainage issue is common since I haven't played out here in a while, but I'll consider this before I play here again.
Slow play. Soggy fairways. Well-maintained greens. Accomodating staff.
Greens were well-maintained. Course layout challenges both high and low-handicap players. Fairways were soggy probably because it is in the winter season. It took 5.5 hours to play 18 holes. I would recommend this course during off-peak hours.
Terrible management.
Took over 5.5 hours to finish.
They booked too many players for the time slots.
I guess they was to squeeze as much money as they can.
Have to wait 10 minutes each hole.
Waste of time and money.
Not recommended to anyone.
