Waterview Golf Club
About
Rowlett’s first course has been laid out over a flat range of pasture, supplemented by 15 acres of lakes and over 1,000 new trees. Designed to be hacker friendly, the lack of mature trees provide an especially generous look and feel, tempting the mid-level handicapper to tee it up from the 7,191 yard tips and go long off the tee. Bent greens are the highlight of the round here–they roll true and provide solid opportunities to snake in a few long putts.
Getting there : Off of I-30 exit Dalrock Rd. and drive north through Hwy. 66. A half-mile past 66 veer left on Princeton, which dead-ends at Liberty Grove. Turn right into the Waterview division and take Waterview Pkwy. to the clubhouse

American Golf Strikes Again
American Golf ruined california golf for locals all across the state and it's no different here in Texas. We just had some horrific storms and they don't bother to punch the greens or perform any maintenance at all. So what do we have left? We have mud, damaged greens and for some reason just over watering like crazy right after we just had a storm.
The marshall rick really thinks he's a big shot. He will ask what if you really need to hit from the blue tee box and he will follow you around the course to make sure you are in fact eligible to hit from there. Rick is an A-hole.
Not worth the high golf fees
This course was not what the price suggests, the greens were horrible and bumpy!
The only thing that was decent was the fairways, won’t be playing here no more!
Usual Day at Waterview
Course is fairly good to good shape. Not great, but not bad either.
Pace of play was not great, but normal for Waterview. One group on green, one group waiting in fairway, and two groups waiting on tee box. Pretty much from start to finish. Main reason why the 'no' recommendation to a friend selection. But, it's close to the house and works in a pinch I suppose.
Great course for the price
Greens were rolling - pace of play was slow, but can’t get upset. The cost is so good that it encourages people to come out and play that maybe aren’t the best golfers. Overall great course - recommend for sure.
Anywhere but here!!
First of all, charging $64 is criminal for the playing experience they give you. The range was in decent shape and the fairways weren’t bad. Most of the tee boxes were moved around or had some type of construction while the greens were all dead and bumpy and inconsistent speed due to the varying levels of dryness. The weirdest part of the round however came when my buddy and I stopped at the turn for a beer and sandwich. It was a busy Tuesday so they were out of sandwiches, totally understandable. The lady offered to make more sandwiches if we were willing to wait so I said ok and ordered 4 beers total for my friend and I. She asks for my ID (I am 25 years old, 6’5 180 lb’s with a full beard) which I provided immediately, my buddy is about 6’6 so just barely taller than me, she scans the ID for almost a minute then looks at my friend and goes “well how tall are you?” And he replies “umm I’m 6’5 and some change..?” And she says “well you look taller than him” referring to me. I was in shock trying to decipher if this was a joke or she was actually questioning the validity of my government issued ID based on the height. She continues to go on about how the height looks off to her to which I eventually got fed up snd told her to forget the sandwiches and to either scan the ID like any other bar would in America to confirm validity or simply sell me the beer. For God’s sake there is such thing as pace of play. So she finally rings up the beer and we leave. Needless to say holes 10 and 11 were a blur trying to process such a strange interaction at a golf course. I work at one of the nationwide staples of hospitality and customer service and this is absolutely not how you interact with a paying customer nor should you ever make a guest feel so uncomfortable when you are working for tips.
Lastly, hole 13 the guy operating this huge lawn mower never had the courtesy to stop it or let us hit in silence then proceeded to ride our butt the entirety of the hole which is unbelievable considering it’s a 408 yard par 4. I’ve just never seen such a compound of unprofessionalism at a course and I can honestly say I don’t ever see myself returning nor would I recommend another sound minded golfer to set themselves up for such an experience.
12 Handicapper
The fairways are in great shape, but the greens don't seem to have started growing yet. The staff is very good. The range was closed.
Save your time and money
Title says it all. Staff super unfriendly and judgmental. One of the guys in the office sat and mean mugged me while I was just trying to use the restroom. My friend lost something on the course and tried to ask if it had been returned and it must have been a massive inconvenience for the guy at the counter and couldn’t be bothered.
Great pace
In better shape than many other public courses in the area right now. Pace of play was terrific for a Friday.
Greens are completely dead
$64 for this course in this condition is criminal.
2nd time playing here, the first time was about a year ago and the course was in much better condition all around.
The greens are the main culprit, but bunkers are rock hard and multiple tee boxes with little grass where you tee off as well as multiple uneven tee boxes.
Probably won’t be returning with multiple course in the same price range (and lower) in great condition in the DFW area.
Not as it was posted
Greens were like putting on pitted concrete honestly , yet it was cart path only . No idea why
Wont be back
Waterview Rowlett
Poana has taken over the greens. My guess is they did not pre-treat last October / November is why it's so bad. The Poana will be around until middle of July or August most likely. And, they charged $69 to play! Poana was so bad we had to implement a two put rule. Thought about asking for a raincheck but didn't because I wont be back until after the heat burns off the Poana. Course conditions other than the green are okay.
First time
Overall outing was great. The course could have better greens and tee boxes. Greens have little sprouts throughout. Grounds crew drives over tee boxes and through bunkers leaving trails of sand from tires. Like someone was carelessly driving throughout the course. Aside from that, fairly easy course and was a fun venture from my normal course.
Greens need some maintenance.
Most all of the greens were not good. Mostly low cut weeds. The ball would hop and jump when putting.
Nice course
The course fairways are beginning to fill in. The greens still have issues. Seems as though the grass is still dormant with little sprags coming through causing them to be bumpy. Otherwise the course is very playable as compared to other courses in the area.
Reminder
Every now and then you need a good reminder to refresh your memory. I got that reminder today. It has been raining and knew beforehand that it would be cart path only for our round. However, that was not the reason for a 3-hour front 9 and uncompleted back 9. I had forgotten how God-awful Waterview is on the weekends. 6-minute intervals between tee times, and as we were told by the starter on hole #1 there were three small tournaments ahead of us. Can we pack anymore humans on one golf course at a time? I doubt it.
Poorly run course that is in marginal condition. A reminder not to come back, at least on the weekends.
