Herons Glen Golf & Country Club

WE really enjoyed Herons Glen .It was a shotgun start but we moved along nicely . Glad we had a course member with us to help with the difficult holes

Loved the course. Best condition of all I played so far. Landing areas are wide and not water on most holes. Greens run fast and true. The course layout is interesting. We started on 10 and if we didn't have a member in our group I'd still be looking for the t box. It's about 1/2 mile from the club house. Some of routes between holes passes through the residential area so pay close attention to the limited signage. It's very evident the developer wanted to sell homes.No beverage cart or snack bar on COURSE.

Great Course, great conditions. Quite a drive from Ft Myers Beach. Price is way to expensive unless you can get a deal, but that is Southwest Florida.

It was a pleasant and challenging play with wind and some sun. Good finish and fast greens.

great facility including the practice area, grill room and the staff. Loved the golf course condition and it's challenges.

The fairways were like most of the average courses greens. The greens were fast and true. Didn't understand why all pin placements were tucked in the back or the front but it added to the difficulty. Made for some long putts. This course is beautiful with all sorts of wildlife and I can't recall too many holes without water.

This course has some great signature holes and is just an all-around great place to play. A buddy and I were set for a 2 p.m. tee off. The starter let us tee off early and we coasted in way before sunset. The fairways were awesome and the greens rolled true. A great GolfNow value.

Challenging but rewards good shots. Greens are receptive . Fairways are in excellent shape. Always enjoyable playing this course

Trotz mancher negativen Bewertung: wir hatten trotz leichtem Regen und nur 18 Grad einen superschönen Golftag. Das ging beim freundlichen Empfang an. Wegen eines Turnieres starteten wir an Loch 13, der Weg dorthin war lang aber ein Ranger fuhr vor uns her. Wer sich über lange Wege beschwert: zu dem gibt es die Carts! Fairways sind gepflegt, besser als anderswo die Grüns, diese waren pfeilschnell und makellos, Die Häuser am Rand der Fairways sind manchmal sehr nahe, stören aber nicht wirklich. Man muss schon sehr pedant sein um auf diesem Golfplatz etwas negatives zu finden.

Getting a drink and a bite after a game is a real problem. No proper clubhouse , no bar.
A pity there were not enough carts when we arrived and we had to wait approx 15 min before one was brought in.
Course is great, should advise to show to stimp speed at the caddie master also.

A nice course in Northern Lee County. Definitely recommend giving it a try. Not too challenging, but still a very nice track.

This course was in pretty good condition but not perfect. There were a few areas that could have used a little help but overall it was better than most I've played in Florida. The fairways are rather narrow and the houses are pretty close, especially on the back nine so you're drives better be accurate. Unfortunately, lightning drove me indoors for over an hour and then when I came out to finish, I couldn't hit a decent drive to save my life.

The course had recently been punched, but was in very good shape. It was cart path only due to all of the recent rains. A fun course and always a pleasure to play.

greens were aireated so putting was bad but fairways very very well kept

Overall good experience staff very accommodating course in great shape will play Herons Glen again.

This is a fine course in a gated community. My friend and I snagged a tee time on a Sunday morning, and had a good time on the course.

The good: It's a fun course, with 5 sets of tees, that provide challenges for a diversity of skill levels. The condition of the course was impeccable. Mind you, this is "maintenance time" on most courses in Florida, and most courses are often quite a bit less diligent this time of year because of the dearth of customers. Not so at Herons Glen. The fairways and roughs were in great shape, and the greens were perfect.

The bad: The course may be a little short for some people (though the championship-level tees are around 6,500 yards). There is water in play on almost every hole, which could make for a long day for people who have a penchant for finding lakes and ponds. Houses are really close to almost every hole. It's a bit distracting to be on a tee box and have residents on their patios less than 20 feet away engaged in conversations.

The ugly: As enjoyable as it was playing here, the course layout is atrocious. There are long gaps between many greens and the following tee boxes, where you're driving through neighborhoods and up and down many streets in the community. The trek between holes at the turn was particularly bad. It was easily, I kid you not, a 10-15 minute cart ride between 9 and 10, and many of the holes on the back nine had some really weird spacing. I had wondered why they had gas carts at the course. Mystery solved -- electric carts would have trouble making a full 18.

Played as a single and joined up after a few holes. Challenging course, nice layout. Condition was average, greens were good even though aeration holes not completely filled in yet. Don't go swimming..6 foot gator lives in the pond by the clubhouse. Really nice staff.

The customer service at this course was outstanding in every aspect from the first person at the counter to the last person who took my cart.

Very pleasant outing on a nice course with no unpleasant surprises.

It is a top notch course and very well kept. One of the best if not the best in the area.
