About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 03/2019.
The Country Club of Orange Park provides a scenic challenge with a diverse landscape of protected wetlands and towering oak trees. There is also a bird sanctuary that runs along the entire right side of the first five holes, offering golfers a glimpse of the wildlife that inhabit the golf course including wild turkeys, deer, and osprey. The layout features tree-lined fairways and large greens. The golf course has a more traditional feel with tees and fairways that were cut close to the greens, resulting in a narrow field of play. There is water on 14 holes and bunkers strategically placed around the greens.

Much love to CCOP
Course was in very good condition. New greens had a nice little spring to the first bounce but responded well on the next one. Rolled very true, sort of sluggish uphill but was surprised how far some of the down hill putts rolled through the hole even with the morning dew. This course has actual rough so fairways are important here. Flyer lies. Ive been told the staff is gearing up for the club championship and the plan is to speed the greens up a bit. Sounds very nice to the low handicappers in my group. Will definitely be back. And soon.
Nice course
The greens are coming along nice. Still a bit hard but they are new. They roll true and are fast. Course is in good condition and a challenge to the average layer. Clubhouse is nice and the staff is friendly. Food pretty good too. If you haven't played there you need to give it a try.
Hi Ray,

A Challenging but Manageable Beauty
As older average players, we found this course quite challenging for our now-shorter games. The homes and scenery were beautiful, and familiarity with the course should improve our scores. We would definitely play again and recommend it to good players.
Hi GStrand,

Nice course
Greens were in very good condition. Challenging course. I enjoyed it very much.

Second visit
Course is a very playable course for the high handicap golfer. You will not be disappointed .
Thank you for your review and for playing at the Country Club of Orange Park! We are glad that you came back for a second time and hope you will come back for a third!
Good conditions / Great pace of play
After significant rainfall, the course drains well. Green conditions were very good, but rolled somewhat slow. Overall conditions were very good, in spite of our greater-than-average recent rainfall and the experience was positive.
I would strongly recommend. The Golfnow rate was excellent for a weekend.
Hi Frederick,
Thank you for your review and for playing at the Country Club of Orange Park! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our conditions. We can't wait to have you back!
Great course!
Played first tee time of the day. The fairways were "slushy wet" from heavy rain last night. The greens were sandy from recent aeration. Otherwise, the course is well maintained and in great condition. Highly recommended!
Thank you for playing the Country Club of Orange Park! We are glad to hear that you had a great experience. We look forward to seeing you back soon!
Play it Now!!
This course is in the best condition I have seen it in years! Excellent excellent greens, very true & full (a tad slow but normal for Jacksonvillle) A little wet in the fairways but only because it rained every day the week we played.
Cart girl had a rough time keeping any drinks in the cart (she was always out of Gatorade &/or Beer)
The range was in good order but the chipping green was too soggy to hit on & the pace of play was just under 5 hours (due to cart path only)
Overall it was a great day & I will be playing here again soon!
Hi Travis,
Thank you for your great review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the great conditions at Country Club of Orange Park. We hope to see you again soon!
Friendly staff and great greens
The only negative is the course was soaked and cart path only, which made the round much longer than usual.
Really enjoyed the improved greens, much nicer than years past.
Club Policy
While putting out on the 18th hole an employee came out to our cart and started to wipe our clubs. He did not ask if he could and I consider this a forced tip on his part. The next time playing here I will be on the look-out for the desperate club-wiper and stop him before he gets to our cart. Otherwise I am happy to play here.
Nice
It raining pretty bad but the course held up very well , nice place to play rain or shine
Course is in great shape
The course is in great condition. The greens are fast, but manageable. The pace of play was better than times in the past. Overall, I had an excellent experience. played 18 in a little over 3 hrs.
Great course
Great course, great facilities, here from Dallas Texas and really enjoyed playing here. Stopped by the concession stand right before number 1 hole and asked for some water and ice, girl told me there's a water fountain right outside. Not what I asked for. Stopped by again at the turn and there was nobody there, went to the clubhouse and nobody was around on a very hot day.
Great greens.
First time playing CCOP in 3+ years. Greens are in very good shape for low to moderate cost of play. Well maintained with a close cut and fair to moderate slopes. Tee boxes and fairways are in good shape too.
Outstanding condition
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The overall condition of the course was eccentric. The greens were extremely nice. Would highly recommend.
CC of Orange Park
Course has a nice layout. New greens are rolling very nicely. They are still very firm and need some time to soften up. Low trajectory shots will not stay on these greens. Need to be a very high ball hitter (fortunately I am). Great value and a challenge from the tips.
thorny47
My son and I really liked the course but the pace was slow because of a tourney playing no marshall keeping them moving they wasted to much time and really backed things up.
Best Greens in Jacksonville
I haven't played this course in a couple of years and it has always been one of my favorites in the area. After finding multiple courses with terrible greens in the past month (NAS, Windsor Park, Fleming Island) I was elated to find OPCC in fantastic condition from tee to green. Go play this course. The only caveat is that the pace of play/number of groups could be better monitored; at one point there were 4 groups backed up on the 15th tee.
Good Course - Great Value
We found the course to be in very good condition. The greens were a little firm but in excellent condition. Water comes into play on most holes and makes the course interesting to play.
OPCC Redux
The course is vastly improved from last year. The greens are some of the best in the area and the fairways are well mown. Would absolutely recommend course to friends.
